Swiper - offices round the stations affected have been evacuted so not everybody will be able to get to a PC to post or email.

Mobile lines are very patchy so difficult to contact that way.

So don't panic if people can't report in

Anchovy · 07/07/2005 11:30

Anchovy checking in from City (close to Old Bailey). Message at the moment seems to be stay in offices as safer. DH also working in Central London is fine; spoken to my nanny and she and children are fine. Think I'm walking back to SW London though.

Remember that there is always bound to be lots of confusion and lack of communication. DH and I agreed that after 9/11 if we could not get in touch with each other we would not officially panic for about 10-12 hours. Statistically your loved ones are much more likely to be waiting somewhere with no mobile coverage than anything else.

Stay strong!

ScummyMummy · 07/07/2005 11:30

Oh dino hon. I hope it won't happen.

KBear · 07/07/2005 11:34

I'm here (thanks kid!) - quite scared actually, heart's pounding. Been told to stay in building. DH flapping at home poor sod. Lots of people not arrived yet.

soapbox · 07/07/2005 11:35

Having said people shouldn't panic if they haven't heard from others, I must admit that I would feel a damned sight happier if I had heard from DH!

tarantula · 07/07/2005 11:35

National Rail website is showing the following
Due to several explosions in the London area, London Liverpool Street, London Kings Cross, London St Pancras, London Marylebone, London Euston and Stratford train stations are currently closed until further notice. The entire London Underground is also currently closed until further notice
so anyone heading to south of London should be ok on Overground trains. Just have to get to the train station

marthamoo · 07/07/2005 11:36

Love to you all. Stay put and keep safe.

KBear · 07/07/2005 11:36

I think the message is stay put - we just had a message on our firm's tannoy that all mainline stations are closed too - don't know if that is true, check your train company.

misdee · 07/07/2005 11:38

i cant get to see peter, was going to attempt the train/bus. been told to stay put.

Nbg · 07/07/2005 11:39

SKY NEWS TICKER HAS A LIST OF NAMES OF THOSE WHO ARE SAFE AND WELL

Norash · 07/07/2005 11:39

I am glad to here that you are all ok, especially you KBear as I've met you .

binkie · 07/07/2005 11:39

soapbox - know what you mean - though I've managed to speak to dh, our nanny will right now be picking children up from school (end of term, short day) so with no mobile we can't check in

But if they are safe with anyone they are safe with her

KBear · 07/07/2005 11:40

Norash - thanks - shaky

Marina · 07/07/2005 11:40

KBear, thank god you are OK. I thought you were in that precise vicinity XXX
Soapbox, I am clinging to Anchovy's "fighting talk" post. We have just had colleague's wife on phone from overseas, desperately worried
They have been unable to have children and are everything to each other

KBear · 07/07/2005 11:41

Thank god for Mumsnet at the time like this too - it is reassuring.

No
The last exchange we had was my usual low sarcasm about deploying extra alarm clocks while his wife was away I'd give anything to have him turn up here right now
Soapbox, has your dh checked in yet?

Is it one of her days in batters? Where does her dh work?

GhostofNatt · 07/07/2005 11:46

Anyone know what's happening in Kings X area - can't get hold of a friend working near there.
