GoN - I think you are right - looking out the window onto City Road there are no cabs to be seen. Will just sit tight for now and hope that DH whereever he is, is nearer a mainline station and can get home.

Have spoken to childrens nanny and she will pick up from school as usual and stay with them as long as needs be. So know that children will be okay.

Marina - do your children need picking up from school? My nanny would be more than happy to do that and keep them with her until we get back.

GhostofNatt · 07/07/2005 11:13

Horrible vision of everyone having to sleep in office!

Marina · 07/07/2005 11:13

Soapbox, we have some lovely neighbours/after-school playleaders who may be able to do that for us. I will send my number to your yahoo account imminently though.
Dh has just left Baker Street for an 11 mile walk home, assuming he can get across London at all...

I just spoke to Kayleigh, she is indeed safe at home.

binkie · 07/07/2005 11:15

What a good idea Blu.

I am here (office), I am fine. Convoluted journey in, though.

Anyone going west (towards Paddington or beyond) this afternoon? Want to share a cab, or walk together?

RTKangaMummy · 07/07/2005 11:17

THEY HAVE SWITCHED OFF THE MOBILE NETWORK SO THEY CAN'T BE USED TO DETENATE BOMBS

Kayleigh · 07/07/2005 11:17

Have been watching the news stunned. Am working from home because I had to get ds1s new school uniform from the school he starts in sept, and uniform sale is today.

Am thinking of all of you and hoping you all get home ok, and that all the city mumsnetters are safe.
