The RA is on Piccadilly which is not near where this is happening. Hope that reassures you.

TheRealMrsF · 07/07/2005 13:28

Yep...why disd i think it was wednesday today!

Thanks for that- i have been feeling so sick about what i'd do if someone i know was involved...i am 'lucky' that i have NO one who works/lives within 50 miles of london...

beansprout · 07/07/2005 13:28

Kid - TCR to East London would normally be the Central Line, straight through but of course there are no tube trains. Am not sure if ALL buses are disrupted. When do they need to travel?

TheRealMrsF · 07/07/2005 13:28

beansprout- i got the wrong day thank god.

anorak · 07/07/2005 13:29

It's just been announced that the authorities are liaising with schools to try to get them to stay open late tonight with the expectation that lots of people will be stuck.

magnolia1 · 07/07/2005 13:29

The one day my Dad isn't in London, Thank God.

Thinking of all who have friends/relatives in London xxxx

crumpet · 07/07/2005 13:29

does Croydon go into Waterloo? trains are still running from Waterloo (at least to Reading)

yoyo · 07/07/2005 13:30

Crumpet - DH just told by police officer that Waterloo was closed?

Dingle · 07/07/2005 13:31

Someone on another site said about giving blood. I am sure that there are many of us who are sat here in stunned amazement with a complete and utter feeling of being useless. It might be that even a few of us could help by donating blood. I am sure their supplies will run low after this!

Ladymuck · 07/07/2005 13:31

Central Croydon (near the Home Office) is affected.

snafu · 07/07/2005 13:31

Croydon underpass was closed at 11.30 and all roads out of centre shut. Looked as if they were evacuating HO building s and Whitgift Centre whne I was stuck on Wellesley Road in traffic jam. Couldn't see much except lots of flahing lights and hi-vis jackets

foxinsocks · 07/07/2005 13:31

whereabouts do they want to go in east london kid? If I was stuck around tot court rd, I'd be tempted to go out later and buy a cheapy bike and cycle there. The overground trains will probably be OK

hercules · 07/07/2005 13:31

yoyo we had a call from fil about just now to say he was on a train from Waterloo, but I'm not sure how long ago the train actually left - within the last 1/2 hour I would think

foxinsocks · 07/07/2005 13:33

I imagine they are checking for other devices

There may well be some that didn't go off or others that are planned

theyb etter not have told the school kids. dd1 has enough on her plate.

mummy23 · 07/07/2005 13:34

just spoke to my DP and he works at canary wharf and he told me that they have not been evactuated yet!

RTKangaMummy · 07/07/2005 13:34

DH school {senior} are not allowing the boys to leave unless they are being collected by car

Lots of them go by tube into london

So they all have to account for their homeward journey

They are to stay at school until they are collected.

beansprout - there are about 6 staff stuck at TCR at the moment. They need to be able to get home and are considering walking (minimum of 5 miles) so would prefer to start now rather than later if that is their only option.

ninah · 07/07/2005 13:34

just heard from dp - he's fine - phew
thoughts are with anyone else waiting

piffle · 07/07/2005 13:34

snafu · 07/07/2005 13:34
