karenanne · 07/07/2005 13:08

personally think its nothing to do with olympics ...this has been planned meticuously by whoever did it.to plant bombs in the underground is not easy feat they were in the tunnels from what i understand .this is todo with g8 .

Lizzylou · 07/07/2005 13:08

Agree Fimbo, pretty repulsive IMO

RTKangaMummy · 07/07/2005 13:08

SaintGeorge · 07/07/2005 13:09

Update from BBC TV

Confirmed fatalities at Edgeware Rd tube, but no numbers

dizzymama · 07/07/2005 13:09

blair is saying that the bombings will not weaken g8's resolve to 'sort' world poverty. is this all to do with g8 then?

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 13:09

Oh Flossam - had no idea that what your job.
What dread you must be feeling.

thinking of you

Blu · 07/07/2005 13:10

We called DS's nursery (S London) and asked if they would like us to collect him, so that staff could concentrate on their own families etc - they said they were keeping all the children occupied and had called in all staff on leave in order to be able to stay open as late as necessary because of parents not able to get home!

hercules · 07/07/2005 13:11

I hate to think how people will treat muslims in uk now. After sept 11 there was a lot of bullying of muslim kids in my school.

hakuna · 07/07/2005 13:11

will leave tv on for updates & send them on.

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 13:11

That is really good Blu - pity it takes something so terribly scary and tragic for us to see that there are still some good people in this shitty world

Ladymuck · 07/07/2005 13:12

RTKM, it's the age of the children (under 5), and the fact that they should know that some of the parents do work in London that gives me a problem! I had to lie to ds1 and tell him that I'd spoken to Daddy and he was OK. And thankfully he isn't aware that Grandad is in London too.

Have to say the thought of "cannon-balls" did cheer me up briefly. Easier for a 4 year old to cope with than suicide bomber.

SaintGeorge · 07/07/2005 13:12

6 people currently in theatres at Royal London Hospital - mainly blast and burn injuries.

hakuna · 07/07/2005 13:13

everyone being told by bbcnews to stay where they are. I assume this means not to try to walk home.

Springchicken · 07/07/2005 13:13

Eye witness at Bus Bomb.
Lots of smoke, room of bus torn open. People lying on the street outside BMA House

FlounceyFlossam · 07/07/2005 13:13

I need to go shopping, but i'm too frightened to go out atm - and i only live in silly barking - god only knows how all of you in central London must be feeling right now. {{{{hugs to you all}}}}

Ladymuck · 07/07/2005 13:14

Croydon was fine this morning. Found out about the explosions whilst out shopping there - the staff in HofF were doing a security check, and one of them told me why. Went back into Croydon at midday to collect ds1, and all seemed normal.

QueenOfQuotes · 07/07/2005 13:14

Just spoken to my friend at nursery - her DH works in London -but he's ok

hercules · 07/07/2005 13:15

thanks.

suzywong · 07/07/2005 13:15

I feel very very far away from dh

and he's safe, lord knows how poeple who can't find loved ones are feeling

and I do think it's a bit rude of Bush to be standing right in front of Kofi Anan at the press conference, he could move over a bit surely
