DAftpunk, do you think homosexuality is abnormal?

And what's your favourite biscuit?

MrsMattie · 14/01/2010 10:50

Oh daftpunk, you are such an unbelievable ignoramous....

Disenchanted3 · 14/01/2010 10:51

YOUR VIEWS ARE NOT NORMAL, you are a hateful, predjudeced person ... how does that fit in with the catholic ethos? pretty fucking well actually

BunnyLebowski · 14/01/2010 10:52

Do you think it's an 'abomination' DP.

You sound like that ignorant hate-filled oul hag who's in the press lately.

Lizzylou · 14/01/2010 10:52

Another one here whose DC go/will go to a Catholic CHurch and who teaches them that Homosexuality is not wrong or unnatural.

IMO the local Church/school is trying slowly to be more accepting, which is such a good thing. Our school participated in Comic Relief/Children in Need as well.

If the RC church can raise the blinkers and adopt more accepting views can't see why you can't Op.

Do you go to Church, are your DC in Catholic schools?

Disenchanted3 · 14/01/2010 10:54

DP, I for one am pretty sick of you spouting this crap, we are know your views so why not give it a rest eh? Of change your name to DaftPunkHatesPuffsaAndLezzers, Im sure that would get you lots of attention.

You are obviously homophobic and very vocal about it, perhaps we should consult MNHQ on their policy of people spouting hateful crap. Maybe its time you were banned?

ChickensLoveMarmite · 14/01/2010 10:57

Think Dis has a point. This kind of bile hurts people.

daftpunk · 14/01/2010 10:58

Disenchated3;

you don't have to read my posts.

why do you read them if they annoy you..?

This is a thread about something in the news...1000's of people will disagree with NC over this.

Actually, thinking back to my own Catholic education light years ago, we were taught (in Compulsory RE) about omosexuality/Abortion/Euthanasia and given the Church's views on them but were never told that they were "wrong", just encouraged to discuss and think about things more.

We were also taught about other faiths as well, again, these were not lambasted or shown as wrong.

This was 20 years ago.

Disenchanted3 · 14/01/2010 10:59

Because I don't 'ignore' hatefulness, I fight it. Thats how you get rid of it.

morningpaper · 14/01/2010 11:00

Hmm I am coming around to the the banning idea

The fact is, this kind of invective is being stamped out in law

because it's wrong and it ruins people's lives and justifies hatred and violence

And these threads just upset people

DuelingFanjo · 14/01/2010 11:01

what's your favourite biscuit Daftpunk?

pastapestofor6 · 14/01/2010 11:01

op you are a loon
can't think of anything else to say

daftpunk · 14/01/2010 11:01

I have read posts on here calling the pope a homophobic idiot (infact, he was called alot worse than that)...do you think that is acceptable..?

OP posts:
nickschick · 14/01/2010 11:04

Im a practicing catholic and my eldest attends a strict catholic college and middle son is at a 'good' catholic secondary - I have brought my children up with the theory that love is love and regardless of what other people may say - if there is mutual love then whoever shares that love is living Gods way, after all God is love.

DuelingFanjo · 14/01/2010 11:05

answer my questions first!

specially the biscuit one!

daftpunk · 14/01/2010 11:07

I don't eat biscuits....

If someone behaves in a way which is homophobic, or makes homophobic statements, then it is acceptable for people to call them homphobic. Equally if they say/do things which make them look idiotic, then it's acceptble to call them an idiot.

Thandeka · 14/01/2010 11:09

Good point riven. I know stonewall reported some homophobic hate crime on their fb comment page recently.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 14/01/2010 11:09

Riven - I think the legal protection for racism/disablism doesn't extend to homophobia. Maybe one day.

(I could be wrong)

GrimmaTheNome · 14/01/2010 11:09

I'm not sure its fair to accuse DP of trolling in raising this, because it is the sort of news item which someone else might have raised anyway.

daftpunk · 14/01/2010 11:10

Riven...

This is about me (as a catholic) not agreeing with a politician on the issue of homosexuality being taught in faith schools....am I not allowed to disagrre with him..?

OP posts:
AMumInScotland · 14/01/2010 11:11

DP - you have the right to be a homophobic idiot if you want. You don't have the right to go into a school and teach children your views. You don't have the right to condone homophobic bullying in schools just because you believe homosexuality is in some way "abnormal". I for one would be happy to "leave you alone" if it was just your own opinion you were posting about here.

But you're posting about schools, and that means you are talking about how children are treated and taught, and that affects all of us, since those children will grow up and spout their views and hatred, if that's what they have been indoctrinated in.

So we (ie society in general) are not going to "leave you alone" on this one.
