I am stupid I only just got XESMUB!
Meanwhile on another article about wayne and colleen (I know, I know) I found this comment, please tell me it's an ironic mumsnetter?

'Makes such a pleasant change from all the young single mothers with no supporting father figures who gladly live off benefits with their poor attitudes.

Fabulous. No part of the DM site is safe...

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 21/08/2009 22:13

"When I was at school, my mum sent me in with a baked potato in my pocket. So, I was warm all the way to school and had lunch as well. Happy days. I am quite severely osteoporotic, now, though."

Oh I'm crying... I haven't cried with laughter since forever.. why did I stay away??

So the answer to MN being pillaged for DM fodder is for us to just migrate en masse to the DM comments section? Unfortunately they can (and do) close and delete comments when not going their way. And withdraw entire articles (like that one about the woman who didn't love her daughter, they pulled that off the website after MNers emailed loads of complaints).

paisleyleaf · 21/08/2009 22:23

"Plain Jane, Smugshire, Spaghetti and Lasagne are Italian - or are you being funny?"

SoupDragon · 21/08/2009 22:23

I see they've published no comments since "21/8/2009 13:06"

The whole 'anonymising' of the names is bollocks. If you read the DM, see a quote that you recognise as someone's real-life situation and start googling, all you'd do is google a phrase from the article in 'advanced search' with that phrase in the phrase box, and it'd lead you straight here to the poster's actual MN name where you could search their MN history. It's not actually that much better if she's actually lifting posters' exact words/ phrases as it makes googling so easy.

But GREAT DM comments!

Pandoraneedsbugs · 21/08/2009 23:35

Hilarious choice of fake names:
spam moon Isay sky spook ellie jool five trees

What an inspirational choice - Im so jealous I didnt get the chance to go to Journalism school, it must have been so interesting

OrmIrian · 22/08/2009 18:21

No I was willow. Posing as a Glastonbury hippy - thought it would get up their noses. Clearly not

tribpot · 22/08/2009 19:40

Am still wiping the tears from my eyes on this one - such a classic.

Should we set up a thread which is deliberately designed to be quoted extensively in the DM? It might be too obvious but might also save tedious cut-and-paste moments. Equally we could just write and edit the column with the right logon details? Cut out the middle [wo]man?

monkeytrousers · 23/08/2009 10:13
