Love that comment from 'Stella' - "One day these children will grow up and realise there are some things they have to do, like it or not. In my day I had to eat whatever I was given or else I would go without". Of course you did dear.

Now here's a big plate of food you detest. Get it down yer or the tax-payers will tut

Iklboo · 20/08/2009 10:05

I mean - I love it in the sense of 'Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' Trollance.

paisleyleaf · 20/08/2009 10:10

It's not this week though.

DailyMailCanLickMyBalls · 20/08/2009 10:11

I tried to troll but my message hasn't appeared. It says on the Mumsnet 'article' that "the comments below have been moderated in advance", but I swear saw somewhere last week that said DM were dropping pre-mod from their comments sections. Damnit; my post will never make it through now.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 20/08/2009 10:15

if you didn't have to register I'd be commenting too. Have a competition to see how many cliches can be fitted in

TheBolter · 20/08/2009 10:24

I like the 'outraged of Tunridge wells' comment at the end.

A very boring piece though, wouldn't make me want to log on to MN.

TheBolter · 20/08/2009 10:25

x-posted Iklboo and JackBauer - my apologies! It's what happens when I get diverted to the DM website!

nickelbabe · 20/08/2009 10:26

I've just trolled. although i think i might have misunderstood trolling, cos i sided with the MNers.
my comments:

"Whilst I fully agree that it's so very important for children to eat the correct foods, I don't think that forcing parents to fill lunchboxes with something different every day is going to help. Many parents live on a tight budget and are reluctant to spend more money than they have to for lunchbox meals. A pack of ham will make enough sandwiches for a whole week, so that's what I'll do. When I was a child, my parents did one shop a week and our lunchboxes always reflected how far into the week we were: at the beginning of the week, we would have nice sandwiches, a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar, an item of fruit and a juice drink. by Friday, we'd have buttered bread, a raw carrot and two cream crackers. (water provided by the school). We have to feed our children according to what we can afford, not what is dictated to us."

the story about my lunchboxes is true, unfortunately (except we never had cream crackers) and in the winter, I had 3 raw brussels sprouts in my lunchbox several times (i was the only one in my family who would eat them raw, YUM!)

vbusymum1 · 20/08/2009 10:32

Name changed for this - I have posted a troll comment by busymum1 only to find that when it appeared there are others in the same vein - is eveyone doing the same ?

DailyMailCanLickMyBalls · 20/08/2009 10:34

nickelbabe, I can't believe you called yourself Tro-la-la on the DM, and the comment still made it through!

There are some great comments there now MNers - well done. Am going to try again with something more subtle.

nickelbabe · 20/08/2009 11:11

what did i do?

nickelbabe · 20/08/2009 11:15

vbusy: is that you that's got 6 negatives?

"I'm surpised these ladies have time to spent talking so much about what their children won't eat, maybe they could spend it better by trying to widen their diet then this wouldn't be a problem."

this is good fun!

vbusymum1 · 20/08/2009 11:16

Its the busy mum one and yeah, I've got 7 negatives so far

vbusymum1 · 20/08/2009 11:17

and which one of you is Mr N ?

NonGratisAnusDailyMail · 20/08/2009 11:24

PMSL @ Tr-La-La

I have it on very good authority that Stella is indeed a troll

The comments are hysterical. It is beginning to look like a Viz column - I especially liked "Mr N's" comment that we should be worrying more about our children and spending less time on the net....

midnightexpress · 20/08/2009 11:31

I think we should also go in and do the clicky up and down things, perhaps upgrading all the trolled comments.

In this whole sorry saga the thing that annoys me most is the lazy, sloppy journalism. Jeezo, if only it was that easy for me to make money.

Nighbynight · 20/08/2009 11:33

Mr N is out of date - we've been saying that ourselves for years (must go to work now...).

bradsmissus · 20/08/2009 11:39

I agree with midnight. I have watched with interest the whole debate about this column. I fully understand why some people are upset about it and why people have cocerns.

My main beef is how anyone can get paid as a journalist to basically cut and paste. Lazy and dull.

MavisGrind · 20/08/2009 11:45

when I clicked on this thread I read all the comments. They have now diappeared...Can we troll our way out of the DM 'partnershp'?

GeneHunt · 20/08/2009 11:46

Have the comments been pulled? I can't see any?

MavisGrind · 20/08/2009 11:46

'disappeared'

apparently there have been no comments...

DailyMailCanLickMyBalls · 20/08/2009 11:47

I think the DM has just suffered a comments malfunction - if you check the main page, all the comments have vanished from all the stories. Hopefully they'll be back soon; I refuse to do anything else until they publish a comment from me.

FairyMum · 20/08/2009 11:49

I would love to know how much you get paid sitting at home copying and pasting a little bit for the DM. Dream job
