Oh please keep going - I am wasting my afternoon pissing myself laughing rather than working! I lurrve the comments on the DM - just wish I could be so witty.

OrmIrian · 20/08/2009 14:34

katisha - I wondered that too. But I suspect it's OK. As soon as the picture was taken I expect he cut his finger, dropped the sarnie on the floor and the boy and his sister exchanged affectionate 'dads eh, what are they like' looks at each other.

TheDailyMailHatesWomenAndLemon · 20/08/2009 14:34

Yes, UD, but no one is going to recognise OP from that thread, and the article is so dull that no one is going to check out MN on spec after reading it.

shootfromthehip · 20/08/2009 14:38

Has anyone spotted the obvious flaw in our plan? We, so far, only seem to be amusing ourselves and increasing the hits to the DM website. Ooops

AtheneNoctua · 20/08/2009 14:41

How did I miss a thread on nutrition and school dinners?!?!?!

madameDefarge · 20/08/2009 14:43

The haven't put my comment on either...boo hooo.

UnquietDad · 20/08/2009 14:48

"no one is going to recognise OP from that thread, and the article is so dull that no one is going to check out MN on spec after reading it."

Hence my point - the namechanging is pointless.

shootfromtehhip, I imagine the genuine DM readers are probably sitting there nodding wildly, muttering:

'Dust sandwiches, yes, yes, nice ham, quite right, benefit scroungers, absolutely. Jolly good show.'

madameDefarge · 20/08/2009 14:52

Haven't they joined together two threads? The no processed meats thread and the different food groups thread?

UnquietDad · 20/08/2009 14:54

It's a farking great job, isn't it? Instant bloody journalism - cut'n'paste in extremis. I wonder how long it takes her? 20 minutes? 10 on a good day?

DailyMailIsFarFromPerfect · 20/08/2009 14:54

ROFL @ xesmub!!!!!

TheDailyMailHatesWomenAndLemon · 20/08/2009 14:56

I think they are establishing the namechanging principle now (a) as a sop to those on here who objected to posting names being mentioned (and there were a couple at least who don't want their posting name mentioned because that would itself be quite distinctive to friends and family) and (b) so that they are doing it for everyone so can gloss over some of the names they might not wish to print in full without having to make a special case.

DailyMailIsFarFromPerfect · 20/08/2009 14:59

It makes our DM themed names a bit obsolete now though....

TheDailyMailHatesWomenAndLemon · 20/08/2009 15:03

No, because the first time they report your username as, say, "Perfect" you can drop a line to Private Eye's media column who would rather enjoy reprinting your actual username in full.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 20/08/2009 15:21

private eye would probably appreciate the xesmub name

beanieb · 20/08/2009 15:49

I posted this elswhere but it got lost. I wonder if the Daily Mail will actually feature any of the threads on serious subjects like the BNP being women hating fucktards? My guess is they will concentrate on packed lunches, breast feeding and the politics of playdates rather than printing anything really thought provoking. Sigh.

xesmuB · 20/08/2009 15:52

Trying it on for size!

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 20/08/2009 15:52

course not, cos us girlies don't talk about serious stuff as we cant worry our pretty heads.

xesmuB · 20/08/2009 15:53

Lets just talk about fluffy kittens!

Heated · 20/08/2009 16:01

DailyMailIsFarFromPerfect · 20/08/2009 16:38

More than likely flicking between this thread and theirs and is probably playing us as much as we are playing them....well may be not as much...
