Here, he just looks so young

OP posts:
Lovetingles2 · 13/02/2009 22:21

This is so shocking, we've just been watching it on the news at 10.
Absolutely appalling parenting imo. and the father! good god, he's 30cm's shorter than my 9 yr old! Next stop Jeremy Kyle for the DNA test I reckon

Sidge · 13/02/2009 22:23

The boy's father is the baby's father?

How on earth do you come to that conclusion???

13 year olds do have sex you know

SomeoneYouDontKnow · 13/02/2009 22:27

His voice hasn't broken for goodness sake.

What kind of future is there for all three of them?

It is so very pointless and wrong.

And I fucking hate links that make me read the shitty Sun!!!!

Sorrento · 13/02/2009 22:41

Sidge, you would never have believed a child's own mother could arrange to have her locked in a flat and hidden under a bed either would you ? Sounds outrageous, I wouldn't be surprised at all. The Father gets his sons girlfriend pregnant, shit himself because she won't get rid and then they think we'll make a few quid here and sell the story to the papers.

Sidge · 13/02/2009 22:46

I would actually Sorrento.

I work in child protection and have heard all sorts.

I meant on this thread, how do you go from being gobsmacked at a 13 year old peri-pubertal boy getting a girl pregnant to thinking it must be his dad's actions? Seems like a giant leap to me that's all.

Sorrento · 13/02/2009 22:48

God I hope I'm wrong, just wouldn't surprise me the depths people will sink to these days.

MrsSchmaltzyMerryHenry · 13/02/2009 22:56

Nickschick - don't worry, no offence taken!

DivamakesKimchi · 14/02/2009 09:10

i feel so sad, where has childhood gone, it does not exist any more, or its just so short kids grow adults at age 13.
i speechless

expatinscotland · 14/02/2009 09:12

'why wouldnt the older child, be in trouble for seducing the 12 year old?'

because she's under the age of consent herself.

purepurple · 14/02/2009 09:30

this story makes me want to cry and scream at the same time
what a world we have created!
when some people have no values or morals and the highlight of their life is to be featured on the front page of the Sun
contraception is easier to get than it ever has been but the UK still tops the league for teen pregnancies
DD12 is never getting out of the house now

mymama · 14/02/2009 09:33

This story is very . He looks so young. I think I read somewhere that is sister had a baby at 13 too.

Seems like the birds and the bees talk is way overdue.

namechanger101 · 14/02/2009 11:10

his sister did not have a baby at 13, and the boys dad is not the baby's dad, this kind of rubbish just makes things worse for a family that is already devestated.

mymama · 14/02/2009 11:13

sorry namechanger101 if it isn't true. I read it online in a fairly respectable Australian news report.

How do you know it isn't true?

EldonAve · 14/02/2009 11:30

By Sidge "a boy is physically capable of fathering a child during puberty - they need testosterone; it is possible that testosterone levels are high enough to produce sperm, but not high enough to trigger the other major physiological changes. "

So if his voice still hasn't broken would he have been producing sperm 9 mths ago?

HappyMummyOfOne · 14/02/2009 12:11

Absolutely awful story. I'm sorry but I'd be mortified if either was my child not parading it around all the newspapers.

The grandmother stating the new baby will be a finanical responsibility is a little rich though given that the entire household is quoted as being on benefits - a financial strain on taxpyers may have been a better quote.

Sidge · 14/02/2009 12:16

EldonAve I'm not entirely sure - I think it would be possible as puberty is a process, so different stages happen at different times. As you know puberty doesn't happen all at once, overnight.

But I am not convinced he is the father; whilst it's possible it seems unlikely, as he looks so far off the pubertal spurt. He doesn't appear to have achieved any of the physical changes you would expect.

nooka · 15/02/2009 04:06

I see two other (older) boys have claimed that they had sex with her too, so perhaps the truth is rather more prosaic. Of course they could just be thinking they will jump on the bandwagon too.

EldonAve · 15/02/2009 08:21

news of the world plus claims that she was sleeping with up to 8 boys

tumtumtetum · 15/02/2009 09:50

This poor girl is ruined really isn't she.

Being branded a slut in the national press and with a baby to look after.

Great, what a lovely caring country we are.

Of course all of these boys will be getting paid/hope to get paid for their stories...

PartOfTheHumphreysGroup · 15/02/2009 09:57

I just feel sorry for the poor baby. Will no doubt be weaned onto wotsits at about 8 weeks.

And can someone please reassure me that most 13 year olds know what 'financially' means?!

cory · 15/02/2009 10:13

Agree with tumtum. At the same time, the paternity question needs sorting out. But quietly. The whole going-public-and-holding-your-hand-out-for-cash thing is disgusting.

Geepers · 15/02/2009 10:34

Feel so sorry for the girl. Absolutely no need for those boys to jump on the band-wagon humiliating her at this time.

She must be feeling like total shit. It's hard enough being a new mum, without being a teenager AND being splashed all over trashy media.

I hope her family are shielding her from some it.

Sorry for the double post, I lost connection mid-way through sending.
