I just find these kind of stories of extreme abuse so very upsetting and wish we had better safeguards in place to stop such hideous harm happening or at least continuing (when it's pretty obvious!) to helpless children. Why on earth did the doctor not examine a child because he was already on an at risk register and was 'cranky and miserable' at an appointment and hence he/she failed to notice broken back and ribs? It beggars belief. I'm not a punitive 'hang them flog them' type (in fact I'm strongly against corporal punishment) but in this instance I think the mother should be forcibly sterilised to prevent her ever hurting or 'allowing' such hurt to any other child.

Okay ladies please can we just stop this now it's not a subject that should be argued about. The point is a child has died some of you may want to read about it but the fact is it has happened and we need to do something to stop it from happening again we just need to figure out what we can do! Rather than sitting around moaning about it lets do som ething positive to make some light out iof this awful tragedy.

2shoes in all fairness it is all over the papers today you may not read them but it is front page so easy enough to see although it shouldn't be!

I do agree though there are far too many threads about this Little Peter maybe there should only be one and then if you don't want to read it it can be hid without having to worry about 400 more.

Poor johnhemming, he thought he was posting on here to gain support for his EDM, his target being intelligent educated people who would write to MPs etc and try to make a positive difference.

The only safeguard against people like this is a serious threat to their health, we should all be signing the petition to bring back capital punishment fo peadophiles and child abusers.

Instead of just ranting about it, do something about it.

WE are the only people who have the power to stop it happening.

Best thing to do me thinks is just leave this thread buried where it should be Marmaduke it has somehow turned into a gossip shop, sharing details.

I have no problem with talking about it or even with people sharing the odd bit but when it comes to constant links its kind of ooh lets see who can dig up the worst bit, thats not right.

I only hope maybe we can all do something positive about the children who need us now.

I have written to my MO regarding prison sentences for those who commit these crimes, not just this case but the ones we never hear of or the ones that dont seem as important somehow...

We dont just need to stop peadophiles we need to stop neglect/murder/abuse and the negligence that causes this on a proffessional and public part.

This is just one story of thousands there are kids out there who need us now so lets try and make something positive come of this please!

I KNOW there are thousands of people out there being abused/killed/raped/murdered but you can't fight for them all, all at once, it takes people who spout morals like you to put your name to it to start the ball rolling, this is not rocket science you know.

Haven't read many of the posts but I just wanted somewhere to say how upset I am by what happened to Baby P. I wanted soemwhere to vent how I feel because I feel that talking about in RL makes me sound really melodramatic. I just can't get him out of my head. I couldn't get to sleep the other night for just thinking about him. I haven't actually read what happened to him because I really don't want to know so I also haven't read any of these posts because I'm scared of finding out! I just know there were horrific injuries.
And then I saw his little face on the tv the other night - poor wee mite. He looks VERY much like my little DS which is ven more poignant. I just can't stop thinking about him and feel sick to the stomach for what he suffered. Is anyone else feeling like this? I just feel pure hatred for his murder/ers. Society should be rid of this scum and I hope they rot in hell. At least the little boy is away from all the evil now and is being looked after.
I wish so much that the abuse could have been stopped and he would now be with a loving family. It makes me think very strongly about adopting, actually.

I have just accidentally read a post about just some of the horrific injuries. Have been almost crying again and I'm in work. Hanging's too good for those evil bs. It's too quick. Torture them the way they tortured this little one.

who do you ladies want to do the torturing? a state-appointed villain? making another monster in the process? and who will he or she be tortured by? etcetera.

Gateau I was the same everytime I hear something new it breaks my heart there is a certain picture that I cannot look at without bursting into tears. Won't go into detail because quite frankly I dont think this is he right place to be doing that, I know all the details as I have said before but I can totally understand why people dont want to know.

I however am thinking of being a SW (purely because of this) or counsellorwhichever I end up in but I feel as though I need to read to understand the true extent as one day sadly I may have to deal with it

It is rather upsetting and I think it is perfectly normal for everyone to feel as upset as they are. When it is so widely publicised you cant help but feel as though he was the 'child next door IYKWIM' It's horrible but the sad sad truth of our country.

At the end of the day lets face it Im sure they will get what they deserve in prison.
