Why didn't the Allies bomb Auschwitz

It's all very well asking now - "should we have bombed it" - but then what would we be saying if we HAD - it would probably be something along the lines - of "OMG look how many innocent Jews we killed trying to 'save' them".

What about those Jews who survived, and have gone to on to get married and have children, or those that survived and were reunited with family members?? How would the families feel now if we'd bombed them?? I don't think it would have helped bombing them - the Nazi's would only have found somewhere/somehow else to persecute the Jews.

Opinions please (nice controversial one for a Sunday afternoon ;-)

Nothing you say will help, they have their little agenda, that is obvious. Notice how I am getting flack for daring to try and suppost you? Even though prior to that no-one had any issue with my posts. Now by mere association with you, I am getting snide comments from them.

And that is what they are doing, bullying. You can imagine them in a face to face situation, circling you, taunting and twisting all you say to defend yourself.

Well seen as though you seem to know SOOO much about whats going on in this thread I might have thought you would see if you could find the 'other' thread mentioned in the posts BEFORE you first posted on here.

Ocean - I think/hope that the people who originally had an 'issue' we me about it are now talking to me - we managed to come to a satisfactory 'resolve' about it earlier - MUD and I apologised directly to each other, and I 'think' twiglett is willing to move on too (based on her post on another thread). It seems that there are only 2 people (who both came in 'late' to the discussion) who seem to want to continue it.

what i was clumsily trying to imply, was an essay on positive things about the person I'm arguing with- a technique one of my teachers used to employ!

louise - I already have and you've been posting (as Louise anyhow - perhaps as someone else before??) since October last year - not much longer than me.

And just because I said I hadn't seen you on many threads doesn't mean that I thought you'd only started posting today - it just means that usually we don't have the same 'interest' in threads - whereas Twiglett posts on lots of topics which I'm also interested and I've come across MUD as well.
