I was recently talking about her on the steiner/waldorf thread and read tonight that she has just split from her husband partly due to the lifestyle change required by steiner schools.
Just wanted to post here, incase anyone knew her and could point her to the thread here

Mamzon, the school where ours were was in a "community" also run by the cult like anthroposophy, called camphill. It is a whole village.
The Steiner [people live in "communities" and at ours , talked about not mixing with outsiders

What NR39 refers to are Camphill homes for people with learning disabilities, mental health problems and other special needs.

The large majority of the appr. 1000 Waldorf schools world wide are not "communities" like that, but found in all sorts of social environments, from the inner city of large cities to villages.

While some Waldorf parents move closer to the school where they plan to have their children for 12 or more years, and for that reason may be found in greater number close to the school, the larger part probably live all around, close to or far from the schools.
