Agreed, and I'm pleased those involved in the riots over the weekend seem to be being caught and charged and it taken seriously.

Hopefully these men are too, the lack of police despite several being caught live on sky news carrying weapons and then going on to stop traffic, threatening people inside the pub and posting threatening videos online with illegal weapons whilst saying they're going to get the EDL is disturbing and surely a crime, even if the EDL (if they still existed) are abbhorent.

You were on another thread earlier saying that because you didn't see it on the tv either and then you commented that it was people defending themselves.

I don't think any of those rioting are right but at least look up other news sources before saying you didn't see it and implying posters aren't telling the truth.

Makes me glad to live in a tiny village, 4 miles from the nearest little Market town, with no public transport, nearest A-road 2 miles away, and no shops, or any public amenities. Just a Church, a parish hall where they hold a few hobby groups for the villagers, and one pub. Primary school with 31 pupils.

Never been so glad to be isolated and rural. I'm sitting in my back garden right now, and you could hear a pin drop, a mile away.

Weird it's not being reported in MSM, you'd think the police would be all over it given MRs reaction to being asked what he thought of the 2 tier policing allegations earlier today. Even Jess Philips has been getting involved on Twitter.

Having been around for too many years, rioting almost always happens when there’s been a hot spell, good weather and the accompanying rioting was an excuse to replace your TV, trainers or bag a BBQ.
Call it racist, hooliganism, whatever it’s just an easier way to go out thieving. Especially if you need a bit of holiday money.

I live near the unrest in birmingham and it’s been terrifying tonight. No far right presence here tonight. A large group of Muslim men filled the streets in Yardley/ bordesley green, not sure if they reached chelmsley wood

dr surgeries cancelled all appointments and heartlands hospital locked down

many of the men carrying weapons including swords openly.

streets closed and white people in Cars and on foot attacked.

a local pub surrounded, families inside barricades themselves in as a huge group tried kicking in all the doors and windows to get to them

one man punched kicked and Stamped on. Who was outside the barricade

this was all going on for hours and no bloody police. Where the hell were they. Compared to all the other protests and riots all having give police presence

and this is not being reported! You can see live stream recordings on Twitter/X still Including the sky reporter being forced off air, and the slashing of their vehicle tyre

god knows what this will all spark off now and I am very worried about what will follow this

There seems to be some confusion on this thread. The people causing trouble in Yardley are not the Tommy Robinson lot. It seems to be a mixture of Muslims and people who regard themselves as counter-EDL. The events of the last election have shown that the area is a tinderbox in a different way from the areas where there are other riots at the moment. Some of the people involved with the Independent candidates were very nasty agitators.
