I don’t think that’s fair. The Leeds riots were not policed and social workers returned the children, despite there being real concerns for their welfare. The Manchester riots were barely reported on, except in a way that tried to justify them, and the men who attacked the police at the airport were not charged.

Who is running the country? This is not democracy.

But looking at the 2011 riots, it doesn't mention at all that the vast majority of the looting and riots were done by black men. It only mentions how terrible it was that Mark Duggen was shot.

However, these riots will mention white and far right as much as you can possibly mention it.

This was a headline from 2011 "The peaceful march on the morning of Saturday 6 August in Tottenham was followed by rioting and looting, first in Tottenham and later in Tottenham Hale Retail Park."

It is clearly two tier journalism.

White people are far right and thugs and racists and the worst of humanity.

People of colour are peaceful and justified and only coming out to protect their homes and places of worship.

Isn't this whole situation just so sad. I do blame years of targeted blaming of immigrants and Muslims for problems caused by the tory government. And high profile people like Tommy, Laurence Fox and Farage for using this angle to make money for themselves.
I don't agree with any violence but I don't blame the Muslim communities for coming out to defend their houses, businesses and mosques after the last few days. You are allowed to use reasonable force and why would the police need to turn up if they're not causing any problems? The video of the lad being attacked at the pub is bad but I've seen the whole video and he does appear to start on them. Not that I think the reaction is appropriate but people are rightly annoyed. This two tier policing line being pumped out is also so insulting to the police who work so hard. There is very little evidence of it, just people falling for edited clips and the usual hate mongers. Have people not learn yet about misinformation, it's what started these riots! Wake up people. Surely labour need a chance to sort out the tory mess! Calm down men and boys.

The children weren’t returned to their parents - they were placed with family (with the endorsement of the court) and passports were confiscated.

As for the airport, 4 people were arrested so presumably an investigation is ongoing.

Not true at all. I can tell you this as an ethnic minority born in the UK that we always have to be extra careful. Always on the lookout, we don't get special treatment by the police and unfortunately experience has shown us that there's a fair few racist coppers around. There's also a larger majority who are not racist but we dont know which ones we are going to be dealing with.

It's ridiculous that there's white people on this thread telling us minorities who have been targeted up and down the country for the last few days, that we somehow have it better.

Did you hear Keir starmer referencing every single individual bit of violence that has taken place in the last few days?
Why is it that he has to come out and publicly talk about this one incident? And not mention individually the hundreds of others where minorities have been attacked?

I lived in one of the riot areas. I think maybe you shpuld go back and check how the Mail etc reported it all. And what the likes of Starkey were saying.

It sounded more likely that the victim is Muslim as they’ve said it’s racially motivated but then it seemed all articles about this were lacking in any other details, I just wanted to check as I feel I need to be armed with facts rather than speculation regarding all of this. My teenage children keep talking about it and are concerned and I need to be able to have fact based conversations with them to reassure them
