But the non-white population of Birmingham is not homogenous. Within the 51.3% of the population that is not white you have:
17% Asian/asian British: pakistani; 6% Indian, 6% black British:African, 4% Bangladeshi and 4% black Caribbean.

I wonder whether they prefer their eggs soft boiled or hard. 🤔

I live in a London borough we have huge numbers of immigrants and regularly new children join my dc school - these families all try so hard to integrate and join in , the children quickly learn English, the parents are lovely and get involved in school life, the children all enjoy each other’s celebrations like Eid and Christmas . I must be extremely lucky to live in an area where there isn’t this tension hatred and segregation that you describe. I don’t understand why it’s so different in some areas with so much resentment and anger.

What is the catalyst in these other areas then ? It can’t be housing as a lot of these areas are the ones with surplus social housing as its where residents from London boroughs are often redirected to and advised to move ? Is it linked to employment and resentment over jobs ?

My constituency is officially 58% muslim but that's those of voting age. Obviously there are a lot of under 18s too.
There are massive areas of segregation in Birmingham so what has happened tonight doesn't surprise me. It worries me though.

@Devonbabs thing is you keep going on about 2 tier policing- why if you are getting on with life normally would this affect you - I don't normally have police involvement in life - why are these people all so 'up' on 2 tier policing- is it because they are simply twats and hence havevpolice involvement in their family on a regular basis ! I think it's one of those things that 'not everyone who doesn't have a friend who doesn't look like them is racist, but only racist people only have friends who look like them.' Too many double negatives, but hopefully the meaning is clear.
I'm not suggesting you are racist, but when out of curiosity I've clicked on a profile of someone making a racist comment, surprise surprise they never have any black/Asian/Muslim etc etc friends.
I only knew one non-White person growing up in a small village in the 80s, but I couldn't imagine it now living in London.

Once roits start they tend to spread, for no real reason. There are thugs in every city, who see trouble elsewhere and can’t wait to join in. There is an undercurrent of lawlessness and anger brewing, probably not helped by having years of Tory rule.
