What a fucking idiot! I imagine the perpetrator(s) and victims are all involved in a load of dark and dodgy dealings; apologies if it turns out that I'm wrong. This guy seems to have made no effort to conceal himself whatsoever!

His level of intelligence isn't really important

I was not talking shit. You can use google yourslves. Murders have reduced. Violent crime in general has reduced. Records of sexual crimes has increased, which even in the link this poster provided is attributed to more reporting, rather than more offending.
I'm going to call out racist xenophobic nonsense as wrong when I see it though.

How was anything said that was racist or xenophobic that you were replying to.
Where I live stabbing are up, but that is all drug related.
It just does not feel that violent crime has reduced.

The most obvious mode of transport from London into Bristol is the train, but imagine him making room for two heavy suitcases on a packed train
I'm surprised the ticket collector didn't spot anything.
Hopefully the victims will be identified very soon and their families informed.
Gruesome

I travel to Bristol weekly. I hardly ever have to show my ticket, didn't this week or last week. Can't remember when I did to be honest. I often wonder why I buy a ticket.

sam26oscar · 12/07/2024 18:17

The police have stated they have no reason to connect it to the missing lad jack. I’m from the surrounding area and familiar with it , I would guess the suspect was indeed hoping to dispose the suitcase off the bridge into the water underneath . I hope they are able to identify the remains and give some peace to a family who is somewhere worried about a missing person

CoffeandTiaMaria · 12/07/2024 18:18

@sam26oscar sadly it’s two bodies.

They might not have been "oozing" at that stage

Oozing gives me the willies

Willmafrockfit · 12/07/2024 18:19

i hope they catch the man!

RoseAndRose · 12/07/2024 18:19

oakleaffy · 12/07/2024 18:10

Link still not working,, but a google says he travelled up by train😳

But were the suitcases with him?
surely not.
Temple meads has a big gap between train and platforms, so heavy oozing suitcases would be very obvious.

What search terms did you use to get that?

(I'm genuinely interested in trying to find the source)

I thought smell only began with the onset of decay/decomposition, and it wasn't particularly warm on Wednesday, so it might have passed unnoticed, even in shared space, for quite a while. The police haven't said anything about any working theories about when the deaths occurred.

I thought blood coagulated pretty quickly - any experts in the field who could help explain the witness comments that the liquid they saw they now knew to be blood? Could it have been anything else (eg product of decomposition)?

sam26oscar · 12/07/2024 18:19

@CoffeandTiaMaria oh gosh that’s even worse, I hadn’t heard that there were 2 :(

LittleGreenDuck · 12/07/2024 18:23

@RoseAndRose

It was a direct quote from the Police statement.

Willmafrockfit · 12/07/2024 18:27

i wonder how the police landed up in shepherd's bush,

they dont think the man is in bristol anymore either

RoseAndRose · 12/07/2024 18:33

LittleGreenDuck · 12/07/2024 18:23

@RoseAndRose

It was a direct quote from the Police statement.

The only version of the police statement I can find just says he travelled. It doesn't specify how, or mention trains

Has there been some other local reporting, or have I missed a police update? (the one I have found is at 15.21 today)

Willmafrockfit · 12/07/2024 18:34

o rrather
There is no information to suggest he is still in the Bristol and Avon area

Willmafrockfit · 12/07/2024 18:27

Loads of possibilities

  • suspect wasn't wearing gloves and his fingerprints are on record
  • body parts DNA was a match in the database
  • taxi driver gave useful information
  • someone rang in with information based on the pix released
  • coppers in Shepherds Bush recognised one of theirs
  • its an OGC and there's an informant
  • the London end of the crime came to light for some other reason, but got linked as investigations (both ends) proceeded
LittleGreenDuck · 12/07/2024 18:45

@RoseAndRose I know it doesn't. I said "surely he didn't get the train?" as in, "I wonder how he got there, the train would be unlikely". I was speculating.

Anyway, it seems since that police statement that it has been suggested that he did get the train. As others have said, god knows how!

LittleGreenDuck · 12/07/2024 18:49

@RoseAndRose

The direct quote that I quoted was the part about him having travelled from London to Bristol earlier on Wednesday and then getting a taxi to the bridge.

We can therefore surmise that the taxi driver was local, which is that part that you were originally pondering.

MuscariFan · 12/07/2024 18:51

They’re saying he travelled from London on the train, but does that necessarily mean he had the suitcases with him on that journey? Does seem unlikely that he could have shifted them about the rail system without attracting attention.

It does read as if they have a good idea who the bodies are, but just no formal identification/notification yet. At least that might imply that it’s all gang related, rather than innocent victims, which I suppose would be preferable.

I don't want to derail the thread with this any more, but there were long deleted comments I was responding to which most certainly were racist and xenophobic. You and the other poster hopped in after the fact so may not have seen.

RoseAndRose · 12/07/2024 18:53

@LittleGreenDuck

My question about the train was for @oakleaffy who had posted "link still not working,, but a google says he travelled up by train"

I thought you'd jumped in because you also knew where the info was to be found.

I'm interested in seeing whatever @oakleaffy has found about him travelling by train (which I assume must be emerging news locally, or a garble)

This is the local news. No mention of train

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/remains-two-adult-men-found-9408096

thus is the sentence that suggests they’re from London and not local. Tho I think this is from the newspaper rather than the police (newspaper who loves click bait )

“The suitcases containing the bodies of two men are believed to have been brought into Bristol from London”

Remains of two adult men found in suitcases left on bridge

Gosh that's got to be a bit scary for the locals. Unless they have information that he's left the area but they'd have said that. The acting commander seems to choose their words extremely carefully
