very unlikely imo

oakleaffy · 12/07/2024 19:31

I’ve just got home
I definitely saw a news report where a train was mentioned- something along the lines of “Travelled up by train”
( From London) which was surprising.
It’s an expensive way to travel and the thought of battling off the train at Temple Meads with heavy luggage was surprising.

The Suspension bridge is some way from the train station, too.

( Used to travel a lot by train between London and Bristol )

oakleaffy · 12/07/2024 19:39

Agree with others who are surprised at the lack of care not to be detected- Fingerprints are likely all over those suitcases.

While trying to replicate search for “Train” , another murder ( a woman killer who murdered another woman ) came up

There was masses of CCTV footage in her case- She too dismembered her victim and put her in a suitcase- buying tools online via gumtree

Everything was caught on CCTV

, so hopefully the perpetrators in this gruesome case will also be found.

CCTV seems pivotal in catching people these days
including ring doorbells and private cctv owned by neighbours ( as in Chris Watts case, USA).

I don't want to derail the thread with this any more, but there were long deleted comments I was responding to which most certainly were racist and xenophobic. You and the other poster hopped in after the fact so may not have seen.

Ah ok no I didn’t see the comments you mean.

Why on earth would it be? People are murdered every day in the UK.

Hvjudefjhfdr · 12/07/2024 20:06

actually it’s someone else in connection with it, serves me right for not reading it properly first!

What search terms did you use to get that?

(I'm genuinely interested in trying to find the source)

I thought smell only began with the onset of decay/decomposition, and it wasn't particularly warm on Wednesday, so it might have passed unnoticed, even in shared space, for quite a while. The police haven't said anything about any working theories about when the deaths occurred.

I thought blood coagulated pretty quickly - any experts in the field who could help explain the witness comments that the liquid they saw they now knew to be blood? Could it have been anything else (eg product of decomposition)?

I'm not an expert but I've spent 5hrs near a dead large animal. By the end of that time it was starting to swell up with gasses. But not so as you'd notice if you'd just come across it, you'd perhaps assume it was larger in life than it actually was and not attribute any of the size to swelling. There was zero smell or oozing. This was in autumn. Decomposition would be faster in summer due to temperature. Also maybe different species decompose at different rates, maybe depending on size?

If you compare a suitcase to the size of an average man, there's unlikely to be a whole body in one suitcase, so not as heavy. Unless a smaller, slim person and a large suitcase. Anyone who has dismembered a body is going to have put it in plastic bags to transport it, I'd expect, unless they're incredibly stupid. Any fluids would first collect in the bag before leaking out of a tiny hole or the knot fastening it. The suitcase might have a waterproof membrane too so leaks would have to get past that before becoming visible outside.

Totally reckon you could get a body or parts thereof from London to Bristol on a train without anyone noticing, if you started the journey shortly after death and wrapped it well. Perhaps he resorted to a taxi because it had started to leak/smell.

SKY update from London, icw a house in Shepherds Bush believed to be connected

It says a ‘private ambulance’ was there earlier this evening. That’s a standard euphemism for vehicle to move bodies

From your link

He has been taken into custody where he remains. This is not the same man we are appealing for.

ps. Just saw your other comment

Okay?

The eyewitness in Bristol said it left a ''trail of blood'' {He photographed it but it was too graphic for local press to share}- he also said it was coming out of where the zip fastener was.
Sounds like there was no wrapping - or not much.

MargoylesofBeelzebub · 12/07/2024 21:30

For those wondering why the taxi driver might not have said anything in spite of heavy, smelly suitcases, potentially even with blood coming out... If I were the taxi driver I would try to act like everything was completely normal for fear of being hurt. It would be pretty dangerous to say "holy crap are there bodies in there, are you a murderer?". If the person was capable of killing someone and putting them into a suitcase (with all the nasty things that need doing to get a body into a suitcase), then they're not likely to be the type of person to let you get away unscathed to make a call to the police.

Bearybasket · 12/07/2024 21:32

Tbf to the taxi driver, even if the suitcases were obviously leaking blood I don’t think that implicates him.
If you were in his position and realised the customer you were collecting might be transporting a dead body, would you confront him? Or pretend like you hadn’t noticed and call the police as soon as you felt safe to do so?

It also says “remains” in the article. I’m not sure what that means though it terms of not all parts are there or what xx

‘Remains’ just means that they’ve found a body, whether that is part or whole.

TakeOnFlea · 12/07/2024 22:24

"Hope it’s not jay slater"

Please tell us how you think this thick as fuck criminal might've transported Jay Slater from tenerife to london and then packed him into a suitcase along with another man's remains before getting a taxi with both suitcases to bristol?

Please. I'm dying to know the fucking logic here

OreganoandFeta · 12/07/2024 22:37

If it is drugs/gang-related, I wonder if maybe they had seen the Outlaws

It is really strange to travel from London to Bristol to dispose of a body at the city's most well-known landmark but maybe its some kind of kudos/scare the rival gang thing? Maybe it was meant to be known? Absolutely horrible completely baffling events all round.

It seems odd to me that people who were of a type to be participating in that kind of coordinated criminal activity would be so chaotic and disorganized about it?

oakleaffy · 12/07/2024 23:41

Seems like there was another body - or parts- at the London address- another 'Private ambulance' turned up.
