Just heard this on the radio, does anyone have an actual source? Can't see it anywhere yet, I'm sure that is what I heard, assume not 'serious' as in risk to them?

Interesting that none of them wore seatbelts in the taxi - given past events

adriftinadenofvipers · 17/05/2023 18:02

Soooo.... nothing to do with all the horrible things he's divulged about his "horrible family" then...

He was left high and dry before he divulged anything.

Laiste · 17/05/2023 18:18

God, it's so obviously just a load more hyperbole to try to drag up a bit of attention 🙄

These two are a joke now.

No way was there a high speed car chase around NYC with police involved and it didn’t hit social media

This^

And it wasn't "released" to UK media until 3pm which is 10am NY time.

Plenty of time for the "paps" to get their ducks in a row. 🤷‍♀️

Florissante · 17/05/2023 18:20

Why did they not put them in a police car? I'm sure the NYPD has plenty.

Because the police are not chauffeurs.

clpsmum · 17/05/2023 18:20

Auntieobem · 17/05/2023 15:34

So they were followed by paparazzi then? Hardly news.

This. Why not just stop the car

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 17/05/2023 18:17

Nonsense!

Because the police are not chauffeurs.

But nor are NY taxi cab drivers trained security drivers.

And I'm disappointed about the non-seatbelt wearing, if that turns out to be true.

Zap

polkadotdalmation · 17/05/2023 18:26

Watch it guys. The same thread on Royal Family section has just been deleted for expressing very similar (aka calling bullshit) views

Inyournewdress · 17/05/2023 18:26

Have there been any charges? If all these traffic violations by paparazzi were witnessed you’d imagine there would be. If they did take place it’s inexcusable. I also find it inexplicable and inexcusable that Harry and co, and some poor taxi driver caught up in it, did not stop. I would literally be involved in a situation like that for less than probably thirty seconds before stopping. Extraordinary.

Strawberries007 · 17/05/2023 18:27

CNN gave a truer account than any BM outlet. They left in a blackened Cadillac with security https://twitter.com/SussexPrincess/status/1658700098455453696 but were chased for 2hrs resulting in the police barricading paparazzi to allow them change cars to escape but Daily Fail and Express had their paps everywhere near them. Shameless BM. They feed this, orchestrate it and benefit form it.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 17/05/2023 18:28

What's Bullshit?
It allegedly happened yesterday.
Didn't hit the UK press until 3pm (10am in NYC).

If it clucks and is covered in feathers, is it a Chicken?

AutumnCrow · 17/05/2023 18:22

There are literally pictures of them not wearing seatbelts (and smiling, which is kind of weird when they were in a “catastrophic” situation)

FangedFrisbee · 17/05/2023 17:56

Bbc news reporting NYPD say no collisions, injuries or arrests in alleged chase
We've just received a statement from the New York Police Department.
It says:" The NYPD assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard."

As the original 'news' item was from a spokesperson for H&M, this genuine statement from a believable source, is clearly the truth.

This ridiculous couple really need to stop the drama

fajitaaa · 17/05/2023 18:29

Genuinely concerned about Harry now

AliceOlive · 17/05/2023 18:30

I didn’t realize there were two threads.

CNN were in the car with them then? Or eyewitnesses? CNN are pro H&M so this is just more bullshit.

Well, you'd think Harry would know better than do that.

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 17/05/2023 18:30

adriftinadenofvipers · 17/05/2023 18:22

Nonsense!

He wanted the RF to put out a statement to tell the media to back off with their racist reporting of Meghan, but they didn't. They left the two of them to cope with it on their own. All because they were feeding them to the wolves to cover up W's affair. This is all before H&M even left.

So yeah, his horrible family used him and Meghan as scapegoats to cover up their own crap.

readbooksdrinktea · 17/05/2023 18:31

blacksax · 17/05/2023 18:00

The NYPD had 9/11 to deal with. That was catastrophic.

To call this shenanigans 'near catastrophic' is beyond absurd.

Exactly.

Their statement is telling.

friendlycat · 17/05/2023 18:32

Whatever the true and accurate account really is, two things stand out that are remarkably stupid are …

The “spokesperson” putting out a highly exaggerated message that’s already been disputed by others in senior administration.

The appearance of not wearing seat belts, but accepting this is unconfirmed.

The spokesperson really has made rather a meal out of this which really doesn’t help their case in reflecting the truth of the situation.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 17/05/2023 18:33

Is there a "seatbelt" law in NYC?
I know there was mention of introducing on on The West Wing
