Harry and Meghan and Doria car accident?

Just heard this on the radio, does anyone have an actual source? Can't see it anywhere yet, I'm sure that is what I heard, assume not 'serious' as in risk to them?

I’d have expected social media posts from the time to be honest. “OMG just saw a chase in Manhattan, think it was Haz and Megz!” - anyone can say afterwards “yeah I saw it!”. In the days of live streaming, nothing?
police are massively downplaying this.

Princess Meghan doesn’t exist outside your imagination.

it’s not possible for fantasy characters to get traumatised.

it wasn’t the Countess of Forfars entourage. It was the Duchess of Edinburgh

try to get simple facts straight.

Clearly she does exist since she is all you think about! I actually like princess Meghan and yet people like you are obsessed with her and are the ones generating so much money for the daily mail and Netflix and Harry's book! with me if I don't like something (someone) I'd give it a wide berth I'm not even that invested in the people I do like yet people like you actively go seeking out princess Meghan pictures and articles, cognitive dissonance much?

Why don't you and people like you take up a hobby take up knitting or something take the edge off your craving for all things princess Meghan.

The hatred and obsessions is unhinged, so what if I call her princess Meghan how does it affect your life get over it, regardless you know whom I'm talking about, police somebody who's calling her nasty names

Whaeanui · 18/05/2023 12:16

or were there? NYPD disagree

Did they? I don’t think so, they’re still investigating. A former NYPD says he witnessed it.

MrsFinkelstein · 18/05/2023 12:17

Whaeanui · 18/05/2023 12:15

It was, the DM pulled it.

TMZ also posted it, they haven't pulled the photos.

tigger2022 · 18/05/2023 12:20

H&M’s own mouthpiece said they were doing over 80mph to avoid getting their photo taken, apparently that couldn’t have caused a “near catastrophic” accident though lol

jeffgoldblum · 18/05/2023 12:20

ArcaneWireless · 18/05/2023 12:04

I wonder why the BBC website said alleged car chase?

I’m sure there will be plenty of footage about to emerge to show how dangerous it was to the public and indeed to H&M. Mobile phone footage captures ever such a lot these days.

In our little town there have been a few idiots having a car chase (not paparazzi - nothing like that up here) and the copious footage that appeared subsequently on SM showed how dangerous it could have been. Not quite catastrophic of course but nearly.

They were all caught and arrested very quickly. All the footage helped.

The absence of seatbelts though…

An excellent measured post @ArcaneWireless .

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 12:21

*“Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.*

Apparently was the statement.

So NYPD must surely be aware of the near collisions involving the two NYPD officers?

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 12:21

I mean, I am sure they are investigating the other near collisions, but they would surely have the statements of their own staff by now?

The black mayor of New York? You mean the mayor of New York. Or did you forget to include the races of the taxi driver and the police spokesperson?

I’d also like to know what this was all about @polkadotdalmation

Cornettoninja · 18/05/2023 12:22

Whaeanui · 18/05/2023 11:53

NEAR catastrophic. Someone could have been hurt and paps pursued a man and his family whose own mother was killed in a car chase but sure, obsess over the exact wording to use. Sure.

NEAR catastrophic implies an injury. There’s a difference between a catastrophic injury and an injury.

Tbh it sounds like you would benefit from taking some time to ‘obsess’ over definitions of words and how they are used in normal discourse.

The mayor was.

tigger2022 · 18/05/2023 12:22

I think it’s really dodgy that the photos are getting taken down

I think I’m fine with my understanding. Maybe you should take time out yourself?

Possibly because it is usual for some of the posters here who are H&M supporters to start claiming anyone who doesn't support their story 100% is racist (and/or jealous, misogynist, a DM reader etc etc). So to point out that a POC is disputing their account is to cut off that line of attack.

jeffgoldblum · 18/05/2023 12:25

Don't bother @TrashyPanda , I'm sure the poster is deliberately on the wind up!

right you are. Your comprehension of the reaction to the headlines is crystal clear.

@behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas

Thanks. So they didn't ever say high speed, just that it lasted a long time. Another example of the tabloids twisting words and everyone falling for it.

Just4ThisThread · 18/05/2023 12:26

Nah, not buying it.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/05/2023 12:27

They get chased by photographers because they've put themselves centre stage and seek fame and wealth

That still doesn't make it right for the paps to chase anyone, but it interests me that in all the events H&M have been to, the first time this has been escalated into quite such a problem - a near catastrophe no less - is at the exact time Harry's case about security's being heard

Even previous claims have amounted to merely pointing out of windows at nothing and using other people's footage, but this time (and right on cue) it's an alleged massive incident

’Car chase’ implies high speed to me.

Its again, carefully worded knowing what will be implied, and then ‘that’s not actually what was said’

RF ‘racism’ all over agin.

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 12:31

Yes, it's a clear pattern...

PicturesOfDogs · 18/05/2023 12:32

I’d be surprised if anyone were to read the words ‘near catastrophic car chase’ and not think of a high speed chase tbh.

It was Omid Scobie that said they were speeding, their own mouthpiece

Exactly they have a pattern of heavily insinuating everything (like with their children’s titles) so that when it’s debunked they can claim plausible deniability. They could have said “followed by paparazzi” they chose “car chase” as well as daredevil stunts like running red lights that nobody would envision happening at 4mph. It was their own mouthpiece that said H&M were doing 80mph.

Except that’s not true is it. You said this the other day when a post was racist and was removed for being racist while you mocked me and other POC who were insulted by it. You literally post laughing emojis when actual racist posts ( that are deleted ) upset POC. I wish you would stop, it’s a very hostile environment when people are laughed at for correctly identifying racism.
