Here's the new thread

My phone is playing up. I wrote a FAQ and then it crashed and I lost it all.

I'm also dealing with a child on the spectrum who is bouncing off the walls this evening so I apologise for not being around much.

What the heck is that @tinx?

Were they Italian-looking or just a strange shape?

😂😂😂

Did you read the article? The witness says it wasn't cold.

January 27th in Lancashire? Reports that Nicola could have slipped on ice?

It wasn't arctic temperatures but I was certainly wearing gloves and a hat every day until last week.

TrevTro · 12/02/2023 21:59

It's disappointing the police took so long to get back to the witness in the article:

He followed up the call when nobody from Lancashire Police rang him back. Eventually, a week after the first call, officers got in touch with him. It took them nine days to get in contact, the witness claims

It just doesn't inspire confidence that they have indeed followed every lead, though I hope they have.

Glad the thread has been reinstated @ofwarren
I'm sorry you have had to put up with so much the last couple of threads.

As someone who has followed from the first thread I can say that none of the original posters have been 'panting' over this, there may have been the odd poster who came along with speculative posts and said some completely out of line things, but that doesn't mean posters who have stuck to facts etc should be accused of all sorts !
The certain posters who are attacking on these threads are nothing better than bullies.

Don’t be daft. Literally two or three posts up someone has declared some fishermen ‘not normal’ for covering their faces…in January.

Do you think that’s a rational, reasonable way of posting on a public forum? How would you feel if you were one of those fisherman?

Like I said, could be nothing
Glad the guy came forward though
The police should hopefully be able to work out what happened from the garage cctv.

@7eleven and how will you feel if they are in fact something to do with it. No one knows either way right now do they.

Just saw this pop up - very similiar circumstances, dog also found but the man completely vanished. Just awful for the families

Because that is what the witness said!

If you look in site stuff you will see a screenshot of just a couple of those deleted trolls if you don't believe it.

Shewasnthere · 12/02/2023 22:03

Why don't you go and moan at the Witness who reported and the papers for releasing it, why are you acting like we've just made it up.

I remember hearing about the fishermen when she first went missing. The guy must have posted about it on social media.
Crazy it's only just being chased up

I would hope that they were brought to justice by professional means, not some random poster declaring them ‘not normal’ (whatever that means)

Oh, it's a 'thing' I've never heard of.

Sometimes I feel I've had such a sheltered life!

I hope that if she is found, these threads stop. At the moment the justification I’m seeing is the family wanting answers and to keep it in the news.

If she’s found, many of the questions and minutiae may still remain unanswered. This is a missing person’s case but so many seem unable to comprehend that and I really worry that even if she’s found, the narratives around a third party and the police fudging it will persist, turning her into fodder for conspiracies, tv shows and urban legends.

It’s highly likely her family will have to learn to live with this awful uncertainty, whatever the outcome.

I honestly think the media frenzy and various experts wading in have damaged the relationship between the family and the police and given them false hope.

A man went missing locally under reasonably similar circumstances at new year’s eve and sadly was found in the water a few weeks later; There was none of this hysteria surrounding it. These things happen literally every week sadly, the only difference is the media attention and the bizarre impact that’s had here.

melonraspberry · 12/02/2023 22:05

Hello everyone. Thanks for sticking with it especially @ofwarren

JaneJeffer · 12/02/2023 22:05

I never heard of it either @pigsinoodies

@7eleven but poster was just relaying what has been reported from a witness

Just dreadful
That lack of closure must be soul destroying.

You are responsible for sharing this tittle tattle, speculation and gossip, though?

BessieSurtees · 12/02/2023 22:06

Can I just ask about the time from the dog being found to husband raising the alarm. No accusations here and may have been answered on previous threads but why would the person who found the dog not look for an owner or raise an alarm. If they were both wfh did husband not wonder where she was, unless she regularly walked a couple of hours in the morning.

davegrohll · 12/02/2023 22:06

@7eleven sharing it from the newspapers, in the news section... shocking

I 100% won't make another post if she's either found or it becomes a criminal enquiry.

@7eleven find the witness and tell them what they've seen is tittle tattle. Then get on to the newspapers for putting the tittle tattle out there. This is Ridiculous now.
