Here's the new thread

My phone is playing up. I wrote a FAQ and then it crashed and I lost it all.

I'm also dealing with a child on the spectrum who is bouncing off the walls this evening so I apologise for not being around much.

Yes - that would explain what's all over SM at the moment regarding the owner.

Yes
Eye-opening isn't it

Really?
Have you got a link?
The reporter there live definitely said it isn't being searched

She did have form for this,

What form? I've read she was very mindful of the after and stayed away from the edge. Another dog would have an owner missing it or witnessing it surely?

She rescued a sheep once from the same river

I think the police now concede she didn’t enter the water by the bench, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t ever in the water.

The 'wasn't ever in the water' wording puzzles me. Meaning she was but isn't now? Odd phrase

I take it to imply at another part, faster flowing, of river.

This is a totally different case but something has just occurred to me when a PP stealth camping. I took my children to the park earlier today and noticed tucked around in a corner someone was camping in a tent. Now there is a campsite in the area but it's closed for the winter. I live in Northern Ireland so it's incredibly unlikely but weren't people keeping an eye for Constance Marten and her baby and partner out camping Confused is camping in random places something people do often in February?

ofwarren · 13/02/2023 19:30

I don't want to tempt fate but we've had hardly any abuse today.
Do we not show in active any more?

It must be freezing camping at this time of year.

@MeinKraft people wild camp all year round, yes. Lots of posts on hill walking and hiking pages on Facebook showing it all the time but if you feel it's unusual to the area you could always report

A town near me has a large community of people who camp out on the edge of some of the parks all year round. They are homeless and have nowhere else to go.

There’s been a hugely positive vibe, fantastic. Everyone needs to put personal differences to one side. We all have friends like Nicola, we all want to help. Don’t engage with negativity.

The police would think I was a right weirdo, also the people would get moved on from their nice camping holiday Blush might take a drive by tomorrow and see if the tent is still there and if anybody is about. It's a nice picturesque area so I'm certain someone just fancied camping there Smile

She rescued a sheep once from the same river

I read that she reported sheep that were stranded on a small island or area in the river when it flooded , not that she actually went in and rescued a sheep.

Ah right, I must be mistaken then. Thanks

I know, but in the words of the great MO, ‘when they go low, we ho high’ & in true Mumsnet fashion let’s collaboratively ‘grey rock’.

Our points today have been well evidenced & sourced, we don’t know whose reading. We have a huge positive power & we’re no intellectual slouches.

Maybe the professionals are reading & reviewing, apparently PF ‘makes things happen’ , we can too!

Bluekerfuffle · 13/02/2023 19:52

The area can’t be that busy if Willow and the unattended phone were left from 9:30 to 10:50 with no one else coming across them, so might be the ideal place for stalkers or odd-bods to strike.

But you DO touch on something potentially very important, she tried to be proactive, she had a view on local livestock & the type to be involved. Who did they belong to? How had they got stranded. Sounds like an animal lover, who cared.

Well PA mentions a few there on his arrival & there were x6 in vicinity at 9:33am & it was NB’s regular walking route…so similar for others? A bit remote, granted.
