Just goes to show how much false information/confusion there is over this as I also read her phone was found on the ground and placed on the bench

I also read it was on the ground too

Different ppl from the vigilantes groups to news places sent drones up in the first week. And don't ask we to scroll through all the stuff on twitter again, go watch the news stories.

www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/full-timeline-missing-nicola-bulleys-8128984
"At 8.43am, she walked along the river path heading towards a gate in the lower field. She was seen by a dog walker who knew her at around 8.50am, and their pets interacted briefly before they parted ways, according to police. At 8.53am, Ms Bulley sent an email to her boss, followed by a message to her friends six minutes later, before logging on to a Microsoft Teams call at 9.01am.

The last known sighting of her was at around 9.10am, although it is not known exactly when. She was seen by someone she knows walking Willow on the upper field. At around 9.20am, her phone was back in the area of the bench. Her Teams call ended ten minutes later but her mobile remained logged on after the call finished.

At 9.33am, another dog walker found her phone on a bench beside the river, with Willow darting between the two."

I have read on the ground, on the ground and moved to the bench but the walker, and on the bench. If anyone is able to link anything definitive that would be helpful.

davegrohll · 09/02/2023 12:57

@confounded234 thank you. Was the other dog walker the lady who initially found the dog and tied the dog up? Because I've also seen conflicting things about different dog walkers coming across her belongings at different times

ofwarren · 09/02/2023 12:58

Yet read this one from earlier on

"It's understood the 45-year-old's mobile phone was found on the ground next to a bench overlooking the water, which has an estimated 18ft underwater drop."

I’ve read two reports: one that it was found on the ground 2 foot from the bench by a male dog walker, and the other that it was found on the bench by the woman who found the dog.

The latter seems to be the one the police are going with now, although it should be said they use the words “on, at” and “in the area” of the bench interchangeably regarding the phone.

That I don't know. I assume so but this info has been less clear.

But you keep getting repeatedly called out on your rubbish or complete lack of sources.

Don’t spread rumours and gossip from Twitter by repeating it on here.

Only share reputable accurate sources or facts - do your due diligence - otherwise you are risking harm to the family / investigation and if you don’t care about either you are also damaging your own credibility on here.

Why are you choosing to spread these rumours?

MaggieFS · 09/02/2023 13:02

I've just had a look at the Lancashire Constabulary website to try and answer my own questions. A couple of points to note:

  1. their last update was last Friday! (On their website) 2). "She was last seen wearing a long, ankle length black quilted gilet. She had a black Vector coat underneath which had long sleeves and came to her waist" So for pp saying the police officer is wrong to say ankle length when the CCTV shows waist, perhaps she was known to put the gilet over the coat once walking and therefore ankle length is correct?
  2. "9.35am (approximately) – Nicola’s mobile phone and Willow were found at a bench by the river by another dog-walker." Appreciate this is a week old now, but they say 'at a bench' rather than near or on.
davegrohll · 09/02/2023 13:03

oh god not the gilet again. The cops are wrong on this one, it's not ankle length but knee length. This has been dealt with.

i wouldn't pay too much attention to the police website. At one point they got the times wrong in the transcript too.

Just when you think you have heard it all, there are Nicola Bulley 'deniers' on social media. Lots of them.

Oh is this some sort of "false flag" now? WTF is wrong with people. I've already heard the odd mention of "national security" on this forum although admittedly a few days ago now.

I went on tiktok for the first time last night and it’s another level of crazy. I was too scared to watch some of the videos, people out in the dark with torches breaking in to buildings etc. I thought Twitter was mad but it seemed sane in comparison

Kerfuffler · 09/02/2023 13:10

Uselessname · 09/02/2023 13:10

I saw an item on South local news yesterday about a man in his 50s who vanished two weeks ago in a similar way- last seen walking on cctv then nothing. His son was absolutely distraught. Thought it was interesting what the news picks up on given the cases are so similar- that's not to say either is more important than the other

dawngreen · 09/02/2023 13:10

So now you are saying the news sources are made up too? I don't spend all my time on twitter to copy and paste stuff that I read there. @User45378754

Renoir56 · 09/02/2023 13:11

If you are going to quote facts on here at least get them right. The Lancashire Police website says that she was wearing a knee length gilet with a hood, which is exactly what she is wearing in the Ring doorbell footage.

No, you just come on here and badly type out the crap you've read.

Bitteplease · 09/02/2023 13:13

As mentioned before, must be a reason for the police insisting on her being in the water and no third-party involvement.

Sadly believe it's a suicide:

  • Left dog in area known to it and where it was safe
  • Phone on the bench (or, if found on the grass, knocked off by dog) and with Teams on to help others track the dog
  • Left via gate to take herself to deeper water (as she knew it would be too shallow near the bench)
  • Fitbit/FB being turned to private in the last couple of months - maybe something happened in her private life for her to do this, relationship issues etc
  • Maybe she was triggered by reading a notice/FB post or similar of the boy who drowned on the day 45 years ago
  • Left keys in car (if substantiated) and locked so it would not get stolen

Feeling for all involved.

Allgoodthings1 · 09/02/2023 13:13

There will surely be another family appeal if it’s looking less likely that she’s in the river. Either someone knows something or she could still be out there. I also noticed the lack of any ‘come home Nicola’ or any direct plea to anyone that’s taken her. Her sister was the only one who mentioned that anything could be sorted if she came home. Her dad did just seem too distraught to make any plea. I think I would be wanting to put a reward up for information but I’d imagine the police maybe discourage that. Two weeks on tomorrow though and there’s absolutely nothing 😔
