This thread is so distasteful and the people on it so aggressive. Ugh.

Suzi888 · 09/02/2023 06:41

@Picoloangel you can hide the thread… I do with other threads that I simply don’t want to read.

So the police are searching closer to the sea today?

What will they do next, - maybe they will go quiet for a bit to try and calm things , I wonder if that would work. Tilly Rose is doing a really good job with her updates, her language is very clear.

I don’t remember another situation like this ever? I was a journo working on the Jill Dando trial and it was very obvious at the trial to all of us that they had the wrong man, but there wasn’t as much public interest as this .

From my experience, dogs will return to the nearest place of 'safety' if they are scared or unsure so it makes sense that Willow was found around the bench if that's where he was last with Nicola. If he saw here go into the water he would have most likely followed her in. If she was taken he might have been scared and returned to base. All "if onlys".

They might often stay with belongings too - in this case harness and phone . I leave my dog at my parents when I work and if any of mine or my daughters things are there she spends the day with them. She's been seen curled up beside DD's violin for example and her laptop in a bag. The fact the dog was running between the gate and the objects is the puzzling part. If she'd gone in the river then you'd expect it to be those - although if the dog had been off sniffing then it's possible it didn't see and was running between the familiar objects and the way home

I’m most likely autistic too (lots of family are but I’ve not sought a diagnosis). For me this case brings out my obsessive side because it doesn’t make sense, and I’m not good with things that don’t make sense. There’s also no way I’d be displaying emotion in a situation like this, I know I would shut my emotions down and focus on practicalities - eg sourcing PF to help. Not everyone reacts in the same way.

Really? You mustn’t have been paying attention…..

What about this case - same county - broad daylight middle of summer ….. murdered in under 10 minutes at 4pm - remained missing persons for 8 days.

lindsaybirbeck.lancs.live/

Or off duty community policewoman Julia James walking her dog one morning - murdered in seconds.

This is worrying. That poor murdered woman also went missing in a 10 minute window, and a week after she was missing the police said:

Police were still no closer to locating the mum-of-two but stressed there was no evidence she had been the victim of "any criminal act". This was still being treated as a "missing persons enquiry".

They said the same thing. I wonder if Lindsay had been walking close to a river, the police would have insisted she had drowned.

Nicola could have been murdered and her body is no where near the river. It has happened before. The police have been wrong before.

Up until this, I was convinced she was I the river. After the specialist team didn't find her, I don't see how she can be.

My worry about turning all location off though is that if I went missing, nobody would know where I was

It’s rare though.
The reason we’re all worried about Nicola Bulley is precisely because this missing case is so unusual.

I am not sure the owners of the house ransacked by a mob would agree that Tilly Ann is doing a good job - as a direct consequence of her false and inflammatory post they had their home ransacked.

Communication is powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands especially when they don’t have access to all the info and tensions are running high.

The go fund me for £100k was a despicable fiasco.

This conflicting ‘wild west’ communication is likely unraveling any surveillance lines of enquiry that the police have running in the background.

ofwarren · 09/02/2023 07:10

I cant see any different news online this morning.
The police will resume searching the sea end towards Knott End and Morecambe.

Lots of people questioning the broken cctv at Rowanwater and why the lake there has not been searched. Hopefully this will put some pressure on.

Police - Our enquiries so far have included searches of the river and riverbank which have extended all the way to the sea using specialist search teams, sonar, search dogs, drone and helicopter, house to house and CCTV.

'We have also spoken to numerous witnesses, analysed Nicola’s mobile phone and fitbit and searched the derelict house on the other side of the river as well as any empty caravans in the vicinity.'

I notice they use the wording 'not in the area'. I wonder why they aren't helping the police search further down?. Given what they've said they can do so far quicker than the police and don't seem to be using clear wording that she's not there all. The man seemed happy to use bold statements previously and seemed very keen initially to be involved

TokyoSushi · 09/02/2023 07:18

So they still seem to be focusing on the water then?

I really think the main line of enquiry needs to be, putting the water to one side, what else could have happened?

It’s behind a fence though. Meaning she would’ve had to climb over it or someone dragged her over it. Hard to do.

GoldenTicketForMummy · 09/02/2023 07:21

Could Nicola's Fitbit have detected swimming as an activity which would have could have been logged and seen on her phone?

I wouldn't be surprised if there had been disagreement between him and the police and that's why he decide to step back.
From the start he gave his professional opinion that she wasn't in the river and maybe they didn't like that?
He was supposed to do TV interviews yesterday but he abruptly stopped the search and cancelled the interviews.
Talk TV said he pulled put there last minute and they think it's to do with a disagreement with the police.

There is a gate there with a combination lock that the people on site get given the code to to access top field.

Her fitbit stopped 'syncing' the Tuesday before she went missing.
I'm not sure if that means it was off or what.

I'm the same with needing to know the answers with things. My brain tries so hard to make sense of things and put things in order.

They need to check past the weir towards the other areas. I was asked why I knew their business address was at the park. I do not make stuff up!!!

Just been revealed the Caravan park near where #NicolaBulley disappeared was owned by Ansell engineering and Paul Bulley was a Director of the company. Maybe some one had an issue with them? who knows.

Oaktree55 · 09/02/2023 07:26

The private dive guy only said it’s unlikely she went over the weir. It’s certainly not impossible we’d so much rain the week before who knows how that deep central channel was behaving current wise. She had that long down type coat on which may have aided her going over the weir. He’s only ever said she’s not in the area of water in the immediate vicinity of the bench not that she’s not in the water at all.

dawngreen · 09/02/2023 07:30

I was trying to stick to the police theory, and I am not a expert regarding rivers so maybe she did go further.

I don't know how true this is. Without the actual evidence, it's best not to speculate.
