@ofwarren Is the brightness due to autism? Genuine questions, I’ve not been assessed but one of the things (amongst others) is I really struggle with bright light and feel more comfortable wearing my sunglasses

From your previous post. How would you know if you've only read some of them?

To feed your pedantry 🙄🙄🙄

I have not read every single post of 5 threads. I have read quite a number; of those I have, most of them are as I described.

A scant few are genuinely posting with good wishes & concern for Nicola and her family only.

Happy now?

Lovely! 😀

"A group of men believed to have travelled from the Liverpool area, to search for Nicola Bulley in an abandoned house by the River Wyre, have been issued with a dispersal order."

This will be the tik tok fools
What's a dispersal order? Basically saying go home or you will be arrested? @Nicknacky

Even more errors ….. this reporter talks about PA visiting the sight today with NB’s sister …. when he in fact visited with the friend Emma White. I can’t believe they can get such stuff wrong.

It can be, alongside other issues.
Bright cloudy days when the sky is white has my eyes just streaming. Same when it's been snowing.
I wear my sunglasses a hell of a lot.

Peter Faulding mentioned the sister in an interview earlier too. Maybe she was there also?

Extremes (or 'differentness') of any sense can be a problem. So sound, light, smell, taste, feel. The thing is, unless you've got an extreme problem, you often don't really know you've got a problem with it at all until it clicks.

I think these threads have helped educate and increase awareness of inadvertently putting yourself at risk via SM exposure (strava / FB) as well as the risks of walking near open inland waterways.

It’s a hugely confused and unique situation from all levels - how NB has disappeared, how family and friends have unilaterally turned against the police, how PF the diving expert got involved even down to the recent vigilante incidents.

Totally unprecedented.

It says a lot about the state of British society right now and shift in trust or not in authorities.

Tragedy all round.

Women are highly anxious around this unresolved series of events and talking through something both so unfathomable and relatable is a basic human need to try to find order and comfort in times of stark uncertainty.

Agreed.
Far too many people put their lives up on social media for anyone to see.

One December, I asked a man I knew for a short cut to Temple Meads railway station from the Dog's Home. {Bristol}
It was a dark, foggy 5pm He'd directed me along a footpath along the Avon which was fast moving and dangerously swirling.
As a woman, I felt afraid, but kept walking, with dog firmly on lead.

Men walk these paths without fear.
For women..they are risky.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 08/02/2023 23:12

I think the TikTokers are not allowed in the area for 48 hours. Hopefully they will give up

Thank you but I’m out. I have 20 years experience, 12 of those as a detective and been on more missing person enquiries than I can remember but there is no point posting on mumsnet sometimes.

I actually think I could answer posters genuine questions to the best of my ability but some think they know better so what is the point?

Thanks again.

There really is a point people like you posting on threads like this. You've obviously got common sense, intelligence and, most importantly, knowledge of 'the system'.

If people like you with sense, intelligence and knowledge don't post messages then it all descends into more of an ignorant social-media-fed sewage-soup than it is already.

I completely agree, it's infuriating. Every 100 or so posts someone too important to read any of it asks a question that's been answered 50 times.

Just start ignoring them.

I’ve been spending more time than I should on these threads but still don’t have time to read all the posts. Who does? Nothing to do with feeling too important. Is it really such a big problem to answer things again.

He's even been criticised for wearing sunglasses. People saying "who does he think he is" etc.

I wear glasses with prescription lenses, but the kind that go dark in the sun. Today, in the bright sunshine, it looked as if I was wearing sunglasses.

I don't put much of my life on social media, but from participqting in these threads I've now got increased awareness of the likes of STRAVA. Does mine ping my whereabouts when I'm exercising out to anyone, could I do with checking my settings? What exactly am I posting on Instagram etc.?

I've never had Strava, but many women do..I had no idea their data was public.
Instagram is another..Far better to keep it 'Private'.
Can't see the point of publicly posting, unless it's a form of 'One upmanship?'
I realise people with businesses do, though.

I also checked what is visible from my phone after her disappearance. It's concerning how traceable we actually are.

Superintendent Riley said 'every single potential third-party line of inquiry' was looked at and discounted.

I'm curious about how she can say this given the missing CCTV footage. If she believes it's possible Nicola walked back out then someone could have walked in via the same route.

“Please think before you type”

Oh the irony.

All these AWOL, uncoordinated mass communications - such a mess, distraction from the focus and dangerous.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 08/02/2023 23:36

I keep my social media as locked as possible, private, no followers I do not know on real life and I don't fill in the about information on my Facebook. I have personal reasons for this though so have always been a bit more aware. It's actually crazy how much you can find out about people through social media.

Wetblanket78 · 08/02/2023 23:41

A lot of people wear them when driving especially when the sun is low. Can be quite blinding. Maybe he just forgot to take them off or didn't want to be recognised by the obsessive storkers. They should leave police to do they're job.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 08/02/2023 23:43

The sun is really low this time of year, surely most people have sunglasses on. Or he's been crying and his eyes are sore. People really will pick up everything. If he didn't have them they probably would of said his eyes don't look sad.

newrubylane · 08/02/2023 23:43

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 08/02/2023 22:18

The lead may not have been used if it was say broken. The use of string is definitely confusing as it's not as robust as a harness and lead.

Maybe she didn't find the harness and lead until after she'd restrained the dog. The loose agitated dog would probably have been the first thing you'd notice, after all.

Has no one considered? It’s been suggested endlessly on Twitter, comment pages etc so yes, it’s been considered.
