I'd like to clarify that anything I've said is not aimed at describing her behaviour as normal or acceptable!

I keep thinking of Lenin and his tomb. It's not out with normal human experience to refuse to let go, to hold on against all hope.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 05/08/2022 10:29

That latest post..she knew the reaction from the Army..it fits with her narrative. If she wanted to know whats going on why not ask rather then post it. I know she's grieving and head is all over the place but it's obvious why it was posted and the response is to be expected.

Interesting programme on the Christian Legal Centre - www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000110p

Could she theoretically lose competence if it were obvious that her state of mind was preventing her from making rational decisions in Archie's best interests?

She could I guess have her PR withdrawn. I think the court order in the Alfie Evans case included a removal of their PR. I expect it would be a last resort though

That's an appalling thing to say ,Archie, s mum might be behaving in a terrible and irrational way, but you can't just make shit up about her ,nobody knows what happened and why .

whynotwhatknot · 05/08/2022 10:51

whose making things up?

x2boys · 05/08/2022 10:53

The pp,s who was inferring Archies mum was neglectful .

I have just seen there is a Go Fund Me page for the legal fees (which are pro bono) and for Archies Rehab or whatever else he needs? What happens to all that money when the inevitable happens? Apparently some donators have asked for their money back as the family are spending the money and posting pics of fake invoices from the solicitors.
Surely they would not use this awful situation to profit?

mama93345 · 05/08/2022 10:54

@Rainbowsatlast Flowers

I keep thinking that so many parents have had to witness their child die, or sit beside their dead body, yet manage to behave with respect and dignity in the face of the worst grief imagineble.

There's been threads in the bereavement topic from mothers who've lost children, some by suicide and it's hear rending but the mums write with such dignity.

In contrast, this woman has stripped her son of any dignity and is treating his body with an utter lack of respect for him, plastering photos all over the internet. Her attitude towards the medical staff who are the ones who Do show respect and care for Archie's body is contemptible, and her behaviour must be horrendous for parents of other children in that Hospital.

I've reported that post. This thread is becoming disgusting. Posters seem to be trawling for dirt - let's not pretend this is the discussion on ethics or medical issues or whatever it started off as. I tried to post a few times with our experiences to show the other side but some people are just so keen to dig up and share dirt. So only perfect parents can use the courts or they deserve to be vilified.

The Kiwi Farms site is always brutal when it gets its teeth into someone but their big thing is "receipts". There are some disturbing "receipts" taken from Dance's social media.

I know it's upsetting to read ,whatever we might think about her actions, this a real person here whose beloved child is going to die imminently

There is just no need for people to speculate about her parenting abilities

There will be invoices though, for tax purposes, even if the fees are pro bono or paid through the CLC.

There have been discussions on here about whether the family have been paying fees, but IIRC at one of the trials it was specially noted that Hollie was not out of pocket.

As an aside: the CLC seem to have bottomless pockets of wealth

But they are using those invoices to justify why they have taken thousands of out of the Go Fund me surely that's not right. That money should be used for a funeral and then maybe to a charity?

I agree it’s not right and that invoices are not the same as receipts, but some of their followers may not be able to appreciate the difference

1blossomtree · 05/08/2022 11:05

Gosh the one thing I keep thinking about CPR is that it would be such an unpleasant experience for the person attempting it, due to the necrotic tissue & fluid in his lungs.

HCPs are, I imagine, hardened to this kind of thing, but that would such a distressing final experience to have with your son if Hollie did try this.

Sakura7 · 05/08/2022 11:13

So only perfect parents can use the courts or they deserve to be vilified.

Nobody has said that.

However, going to court at all is clearly not in Archie's interests and the vast majority of parents who find themselves in these situations don't do it. What's motivating Hollie to do this, we don't know.

@OneFrenchEgg

If you censor discussion on forums/SM, it means the only viewpoint being put out there is Hollie's.

She needs to be treated with compassion (and MN are doing a good job of deleteing posts), but equally, the disinformation being put out the family needs to be robustly combatted. The media don't seem to have much interest in doing this.

What they are saying can have huge consequences - people taking themselves of the organ donation list, refusing permission for relatives to donate, being too scared to take their child to hospital, increasing hate crimes against HCPs and disruption at children's hospitals.

The CLC angle also needs to be out in the open - this is all part of their pro-"life", anti abortion agenda, and with each case they're attempting to nudge the goalpaosts. Beating heart = life gives weight to the terrible abortion restrictions we're seeing in US states, where a girl/woman needs to know she was pregant immediately, and have an abortion within 2 weeks, else she's forced to carry to term.

OneFrenchEgg · 05/08/2022 11:19

So talk about what is happening now, not trawling her past and making insinuations which no one is 'brave' enough to actually post, just dark references to attention seeking or being a terrible person.
Asking each other where to find all this stuff - it's very clear this is no more than gossip and titillation at this stage.
Originally I was keen to join in, talk about how easy it is to lose trust, think about what I might want, it's n interesting and human topic but this is descending into snark.

GirlInACountrySong · 05/08/2022 11:21

@OneFrenchEgg the 'snark' seems to be driven by YOU!!
