A scan of tomorrow's news hasn't brought anything up. I am popping back to the UK tomorrow so will scour paper on my way.

Email should identify me- I mentioned my Mn name

bossybritches · 28/11/2007 00:03

Of course on reflection the journo could just be stirring it?

bossybritches · 28/11/2007 00:07

Hope this doesn't keep you awake Fran -or encourage Molly's tumble turns!

Night Doricgirl & all!

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 00:08

Calming down now...

You are probably right Bossy - I should probably ignore it and get on with moving forward. I just find it frustrating I think, that it all just goes on unchallenged.

CSS - I can't find you in my mail...

Fran

MrsLynetteScavo · 28/11/2007 00:11

I just want to wish you huge luck Fran... thinking of you and hope all goes well

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 00:11

Molly is sleeping blissfully through her Mama's fury! She's a wise little one!

Fran

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 00:12

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 00:13

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 00:14

Have re-sent

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 00:23

Ahhhh, it says it's no longer accepting emails to that account.

Why don't you email me at:

[email protected] and then I'll forward it on.

Will be up for another 20 mins then off to bed

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 00:31

Thanks!

RosaLuxMundi · 28/11/2007 00:35

What a horrible, passive-aggressive, self-serving press release. And smarmy and insincere too.
Anyway, it sounds like they are rattled which has to be a good thing, surely?
My best wishes to you and Molly.

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 00:36

Got it!

Just typed out long email then wireless conection crashed.......retyping now

Cosmo74 · 28/11/2007 00:42

fran - haven't read all the posts - are you on the run? are people looking for you - if so you need to be careful using computers cause they can trace you!!! - I am only saying this because I know how much you care about your child from reading the post and know you will be a wonderful mother - and would hate to think that people would try and take her off you- but if this is a public case they may try and make an example of you - with using the Internet as method of communications!! Good luck and I hope - NO I KNOW you and Molly will have a wonderful live if people will leave you to mothering teh child that you so much want - why do they not spend time caring for the children who need care and are so obviously missed.

Good luck and take care - give Molly a big big hug from me and my kids - you both deserve and need each other.

take care

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 00:52

Hi Cosmo,

No - nothing so dramatic I'm afraid! I'm not "on the run" - I've just emigrated.

I think, from what I understand, that whilst any of us can technically be "traced" through our online activity that the authorities need a warrant to do so. I was under no court order in the UK, and there was no restriction whatsoever preventing me from legally leaving the UK. I have not committed a crime, ever - and so I would imagine they would have difficulty obtaining such a warrant.

Thanks for the support and for the hugs - Molly has so very many waiting for her when she arrives!

Fran

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 01:05

Fran; just out of interest- were you dealing with the children's services team directly, or through your solicitor.

I've been thinking more about that statement....

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 01:09

Bits of both really CSS. Birmingham I dealt with directly, and Hexham it depended what it was about really - some things were directed to my legal team and some came to me (i.e. legalese about letters of instruction went to my solicitors, but arrangements for interviews etc. came to me)

Why?

Fran

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 01:14

Well I am wondering why on EARTH they didn't make contact with you through your legal team, instead choosing to opt for the more dramatic option of a statement in effect asking you to 'get in touch'.

Very strange...

FranLyon · 28/11/2007 01:18

Well, yes, that puzzled me too. I've spoken to my legal team though, and they've not had any such contact.

I'm a bit confused about it all really - because I'm reasonably sure that the SW from Birmingham would have told them I'd been in touch; likewise the midwife and the GP.

VeryLittleCarrot · 28/11/2007 01:18

It smells to me like pure PR, a rather transparent attempt at damage limitation. They will be bracing themselves for a backlash after the recent publicity, and have little option but to try to maintain a cuddly "but we really do care" line.

Not impressive, though, rather pathetic instead.

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 01:22

Damage Limitation.

To try to rebuild some semblance of an organisation that can be trusted. Hmmmm best I shush now before I say something I may regret in the light of day......

Fran I hope you get some sleep!

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 28/11/2007 01:23

X Posted VLC but yes; I utterly agree with what you've said somewhat more coherently than I

bossybritches · 28/11/2007 09:58

Hope Molly & you got some rest Fran!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 28/11/2007 10:08

This line in the press release was particularly absurd:
'?It should be emphasised that the media treatment of Ms Lyon and the view of her case represented by some parts of the media, has significant implications. It is irresponsible and inaccurate to give out a message that vulnerable people should not seek support or help."

IIRC, anyway, Denise thingy wasn't only talking about Fran when she made that comment on Trevor Macdonald and This Morning - she was speaking in response to all the hundreds of other letters that land on her desk.
