Tidal surge in E Anglia & Kent - possibly 2-3 metres

That's the worst possibility but still, it's very flat on the E Anglian coast, a small surge would go quite a long way.

Hope everybody there is ready to go if they have to!

Oh gosh SOH! - rats, dead or otherwise

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 10/11/2007 10:08

Oh, should have said - glad everyone survived relatively unscathed.

WendyWeber · 10/11/2007 10:34

Can she only catch dead ones, SOH?

Limited uses...let me see...draught excluders? garden border edges? stuffing for a cushion?

Oh, I know, you'll put them in the freezer and then sell them as reptile food!!!

I wonder why they drowned though - I mean they live in sewers etc because they can swim, don't they?

Anyway I'm very glad everybody is OK

Ohhh SoH nobody was offended by anything you said - we are just a bunch of hormonal loons!!

PMSL at the limited uses!!!

SweetFA · 10/11/2007 10:37

You could spray them silver and use for tree ornaments...hang by the tail, you kwim? Very seasonal imo.

OrmIrian · 12/11/2007 12:00

No! Not offended. But I think having 2 clean, affectionate, intelligent pet rats at home made me feel sad. The footage just struck me as a little heartless - it was shown as an interesting and amusing pheonomenon. Wouldn't have been shown on a children's program about any other animal. I think I need to develop the 'ooh that's a nasty animal so it doesn't matter' mindset about rats

When it comes to diseases, I don't think you can catch Weills disease that easily, unless you are intending to kiss a wild rat or fall in a canal...neither of which I would recommend....

WendyWeber · 12/11/2007 12:12

We have lovely pet rats too, OrmIrian, but I can still view verminy wild ones with detachment (mind you I didn't see the poor drenched one!)

(We also have a snake and feed it with dead ones bought frozen from the pet shop. I hope we never get confused )

I think that PMT has run off with my detachment wendy Had a quiet weep watching DD riding on Saturday - she finally got the hang of cantering. Everyone else was clapping and cheering - I was standing there with tears in my eyes... Pathetic!

WendyWeber · 12/11/2007 12:23

Ohhhhhhhhhh, how wonderful - that kind of thing makes me weep too (while also cheering and clapping, obv!) Well done her!
