Tidal surge in E Anglia & Kent - possibly 2-3 metres

That's the worst possibility but still, it's very flat on the E Anglian coast, a small surge would go quite a long way.

Hope everybody there is ready to go if they have to!

WhizzFizzBadKitten · 08/11/2007 21:43

Take care everyone who is in a vulnerable position. Will be thinking of you all tonight.

bunnyhunny · 08/11/2007 21:46

does anyone know if Kessingland is affected? I know it's between southwold and lowestoft so it's in the zone, but is it actually at risk?
bil lives there and he's saying - it's ok, we're on a hill..

SaintGeorge · 08/11/2007 21:47

Posted earlier Cali, will add more as I think of it.

Charge mobile phones now. Check you have all numbers you might need.

Do you have any elderly or disable neighbours who might need any help? If possible check on them now, before it gets too late at night.

Katymac · 08/11/2007 21:49

SOH - I am going to open a nursery (maybe)

Buda · 08/11/2007 21:52

No flooding here on my Budapest mountain but will be thinking of you all and hoping it comes to nothing.

WhizzFizzBadKitten · 08/11/2007 22:03

Kessingland is high up iirc but I'm not sure if the cliffs will be more vulnerable to damage.

Piffle · 08/11/2007 22:10

tis not the weather so much as the tides whomovedmychocolate

wondering if my mums caravan/mobile home will survive on the Hornsea coast - she is in basingstoke working

WendyWeber · 08/11/2007 22:17

wmmc, your accidental hissing made me laugh!

Good luck to all of you - def follow as much of St G's advice as you can. All the advice I've heard and read has put great emphasis on helping the elderly tonight - hope the worst doesn't happen, for any of you, though.
