Quite. And scored for children's voices.

Took ds to his first ever church service this morning. Unfortunately the 'family' service is quite happy clappy and I didn't know any of the hymns.

filthymindedbolshevixen · 16/09/2007 13:37

ugh. It's the way everyone's voices go too hiugh and out of key at 'he made their glowing colours etc' and then fade out.

Should be banned unlkess you are under 10.

tortoiseSHELL · 16/09/2007 13:38

You can tell from wedding hymns whether the couple have been in a church since primary school - for example, I played at a wedding recently which had

Morning has Broken
All things Bright and Beautiful
Give me oil in my lamp

which is fine, but does give away the primary school influence.

mylittlefreya · 16/09/2007 13:42

I will donate my body to medical science, I think. Not much use to me anyway. But, arrrgh, all those medical students....gulp.

Flamesparrow · 16/09/2007 13:56

I'm a medical science person too - quite like the idea of the body farms for forensics

motherinferior · 16/09/2007 13:57

Having met many medical students in my long-ago youth, I'm buggered if I'm letting them loose on my stretch marks.

Flamesparrow · 16/09/2007 13:59

pmsl MI

edam · 16/09/2007 13:59

My mother very seriously wanted to donate her body to medical science. But decided against when she discovered they eventually give all the bits they haven't used back to the family! I mean what on earth are we meant to do with, I dunno, her eyes (too shortsighted for transplant) her lungs (smoker) and whatever else is left over?!

edam · 16/09/2007 14:00

Oops got two things confused there. Medical science would probably like her lungs, now I come to think of it.

motherinferior · 16/09/2007 14:06

Can't they organise some sort of internal transfer system, if she leaves her body to a teaching hospital? Use the usable organs and pass the rest on?

edam · 16/09/2007 14:12

Nope, the family get the sticky/useless stuff back, apparently. Put her right off.

motherinferior · 16/09/2007 14:15

Gawd yes. It would me, frankly. I am sorry.

When I die, I will have this as my receiving hymn.

Here

My DP wants that too Pruners.

Couldn't you just cremate the body parts like you would a whole body?

Once upon a time I used to be a medical student... so I have some sympathy. But the body farm sounds ok, or even car crash experiments?

filthymindedbolshevixen · 16/09/2007 16:42

Pruners, that's my plan too

(tortoiseshell - I think I was at that wedding.
Oh no, must have been a different one...

they had Lord Of The Dance as well )

I will have Cwn Rhondda so everyone cries
tis traditional

tortoiseSHELL · 16/09/2007 19:07

That's another good one, along with Jerusalem (secondary school influence)and The Lord's my Shepherd (funeral influence).

layman · 16/09/2007 19:12

Are you a hairy biker?

Do you not have a choice?

TiramisuTartsandPiesInOrbit · 16/09/2007 19:18

I think I might go and open

www.planyourfuneral.com

All sorts of funky funeral choices, and when you die, the resident pshychic will email your friends and family, along with the local funeral parlour and tell them what to arrange.

I am sure it will kick off like Theme Party Hellfire!

filthymindedbolshevixen · 16/09/2007 20:58

I think, even if you have a woodland funeral or cremated or whatever that those left behind need a focal point - somewhere to visit, leave flowers etc. So you need to have somewhere that is special to you.
