Personally wouldn't bother me, although I strongly suspect that dh would make sure I was buried at a crossroads, just so I can't torment the fecking life out of him from the other side!

StarryStarryNight · 15/09/2007 23:07

FGS!

I know I said I found the op distasteful, but this is even worse! Speculating about Cods funeral like this is waaaay morbid. It is not really a subject to make such fun over, I dont think Cod ever envisaged this would happen from her post!

plainsailing · 15/09/2007 23:07

Isn't it rather wonderful to have a lot of blokes on mo'bikes drinking real ale turn up at your funeral? They are a 'community' - might those of us not in a 'community' worry a bit as time goes on that we'd have a funeral and no-one would show up???

collision · 15/09/2007 23:07

yeah sorry....not very tactful me being here!!!!!

where has coddy gone? I want to know about Mr Cod and where we send out codnolences too if she does sadly ever depart!!

newlifenewname · 15/09/2007 23:08

she be too much of a realist to care methinks

collision · 15/09/2007 23:09

Oh Starry....tis just a larf!!!! It has been posted several times 'what if you died, how would we know? Would your DH post on Mumsnet?'

What is the matter with you?

PMT?

It is just a little joke!

2shoes · 15/09/2007 23:14

a joke on mn...........omg

StarryStarryNight · 15/09/2007 23:16

[ eyeroll emoticon]

collision · 15/09/2007 23:18

2shoes....it is not allowed!

We are only allowed to be serious and talk about serious things like Northern Rock building society and war and (not MMcC!!) and poverty.

No jokes.

collision · 15/09/2007 23:18

Go to bed Starry.

2shoes · 15/09/2007 23:19

sorry
i didn't know
I will not laugh on mn again

fireflyfairy2 · 15/09/2007 23:23

Cod would be the first one to laugh at such morbid ideas... I think.

kiskidee · 16/09/2007 09:06

Folk on here need a holiday.

at flat screen and pot noodle day

StarryStarryNight · 16/09/2007 09:41

Well in that case, I shall drink to that, and sod my oversensitive erm... "soul" ??

2shoes · 16/09/2007 10:19

omg cod you have a conservatory......i want a conservatory

edam · 16/09/2007 10:55

No, you really don't, twoshoes. Freezing cold and uninhabitable in winter, boiling hot and uninhabitable in summer.

madamez · 16/09/2007 11:10

Mind you, arranging a funeral that includes everything the deceased would have hated is quite a good way of getting the last word...

motherinferior · 16/09/2007 11:14

I slightly yearn to do the reverse, madamez - I rather plan to have music that everyone else - well, everyone, what with me not being able to hear it iyswim - will hate at mine. Lyle Lovett's cover of Stand By Your Man, and suchlike.

TiramisuTartsandPiesInOrbit · 16/09/2007 11:17

But that is it. I want to plan my own funeral. I dont want anybody else start considering my funeral before me, while I am still here.... Or talk about what would happen when I am gone in a joky manner.

motherinferior · 16/09/2007 11:18

Well, of course you can. It's a good idea. I'm planning mine.

Currently I would like everyone to leave the crem to the strains of 'will you still love me tomorrow'.

2shoes · 16/09/2007 11:19

i will have mine in a conservatory

But unless icod is a biker, she wouldnt have one? And if she is a biker, she could politely request "black tie" as dress code to avoid this particular funeral style, not?

Not that it matters to me. It just puzzles me.

But, that is the good thing about MN, no? Some posts are simply a little unconvential and challenges the way you think about things.
