Sorry, not funny. A biker was shot dead while riding and the biking community have paid their respects in the way he wished.
Not a nice way to start a jokey thread, have some respect for bikers who have lost someone.

chirpygirl, this isn't about him - that was a very sad event. The thread has moved on!

I know the thread has moved on but my point was it was started as a pisstake of the 'awfulness' of this bikers funeral, which is not on.

I didn't even look at the news story, just the picture. You do have to admit it looks odd and as the chances are pretty slim that anyone on here is going to be related it was a tongue in cheek response.
Are we to presume that you or someone close to you are in the biking 'community'?

Did a double take when I saw the title.

Crematorium is not far from me. My husband rides a motorbike. I mentioned to him that our son might be thrilled to see so many bikes in one place. He got a right tiffy about the ghoulishnes of flocking to see a funeral procession. (Not that I would) Peoples grief is not entertainment.
Nobody's funeral is a topic to make fun of.

And FWIW Carmenere, I am not related to Gerry but I do know at least 20 people who attended his funeral and plenty of others who knew him from biker rallies.

Laughed my conkers off when Isaw a gang of Harley-riding "Devil's Disciples" stream past me....but then all slow right down when approaching a speed camera!!...just seem incongruous. Logical...but........funny.
