I really can't believe this, but...

LittleBella - can you give us proof that they're not?

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:51

I thought it was clear when they set up the fund that it would cover legal costs - am I incorrect?

beansprout · 11/09/2007 19:52

That is just ridiculous bobbysmum and you know it.

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 19:52

Are you ok with it then, morningpaper? Seriously?

beansprout · 11/09/2007 19:53

Ok with what? Something that a journalist may have made up?

NotAnOtter · 11/09/2007 19:53

please shush its soooo unhealthy

TellusMater · 11/09/2007 19:53

bobbysmum - I think your grasp on the notion of justice is somewhat loose.

Have you ever done jury duty?

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:53

Yes the third of 4 aims of the fund was "To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine?s family."

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:55

Yes I don't have a Direct Debit set up into it. Why does it matter? People who gave did so to support the McCann's. They were always going to be the prime suspects and that was always going to need defending. Why should it matter whether the fund pays for that or for their Tesco's bill? It was set up to help them financially. If you are uncomfortable with that then don't give. People are naive if they think otherwise.

persephonesnape · 11/09/2007 19:55

maybe the mccanns should consider starting a legal defence fund. then everyone who thinks they are innocent can contribute.

i don't believe anything unless it's on the bbc website. I'm old fashioned that way. for instance, the daily mail today was a hotchpotch of gossip and rumour. some of it so far fetched that even I found it distasteful - and i quite like a good finger point and simultaneous knitting at the foot of the guillotine

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 19:56

I don't really think the public intended to extend that goodwill to fund their legal defence against killing her, accidentally or otherwise.

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:57

well the public are naive then

one of the main aims of the fund was to support the McCann's financially

ScoobyDooooo · 11/09/2007 19:58

Bobbysmum07 - sick sick sick

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 19:58

morningpaper, if I were you, I would have that post deleted.

wildwoman · 11/09/2007 19:58

I read the Reuters website for info... I think you might find it boring bobbysmum, they tend to avoid gossip and rumour.

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:59

which one?

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 19:59

I'm not the sick one here.

I bet plenty of other people can see that but are too gutless to speak out.

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:59

bobbysmum07 if I were you, I would have ALL my posts deleted

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 20:00

Why does it matter? Why does it matter that they use this fund to bankroll their own defence?

Are you for real?

wildwoman · 11/09/2007 20:01

guttless? on an anonymous forum. maybe they just don't agree with you

beansprout · 11/09/2007 20:03

Bobbysmum - I know you think you are the lone voice of reason, with the "guts" to speak out, but you actually come across as someone who really is quite malicious and happy to state the most terrible things about people who are in pain we cannot imagine, because it makes you feel good about yourself (for some reason).

Very, very odd.

HorribleHorace · 11/09/2007 20:03

bobbysmum - are you ok? seriously i am worried about your mental health. You simply do not sound stable or sane

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 20:04

Why do you CARE so much? You can stop the standing order you know.

They were always going to have to pay legal costs. I don't see the problem with it.

wildwoman · 11/09/2007 20:04

La la la bobbysmums not listening

ScoobyDooooo · 11/09/2007 20:04

Yeah ok why does it matter? if the fund was set up including what morningpaper has said people already knew what they were putting money into did they not?
Who are you to say anyway?

Yes you are sick, you are defo sick!
