fgs

it is probably like 2 hairs

bloody journos

totaleclipse · 11/09/2007 17:45

If a mass of hair was found, how stupid would the parents have to be to not try and remove it

ruty · 11/09/2007 17:45

No MrsMarvel, as the guillotine knitters are at pains to point out, this is an open forum.
I'll try to find a link to Nordic Naturals. Better late than never, honestly.

Manictigger · 11/09/2007 17:46

Perhaps it's a double bluff. Perhaps lostpuppy is a journo who is hoping to generate comments along the 'I always thought that Kate McCann looked a bit shifty' lines so he can incorporate a few choice MN quotes into another article. I can't think of any other reason why anyone would read yet another article on MM and immediately think 'ooh must post this on MN for discussion. Do you lot really spend all your time looking for new snippets of information/speculation on this subject and then rush to post it here?

And Haychee, many of us have started posting on these threads because we've taken Justine's advice that to give outside observers a balanced view of MN, we have to comment. Saying silent had no effect, it just gave you and your comrades a free rein to wallow in your unfounded speculation.

divastrop · 11/09/2007 17:52

bbc newsdoesnt say anything about hair, just that the files have been passed to the prosecutor and the mccanns are waiting to hear what action,if any, will be taken.

sky news have alot to answer for

turquoise · 11/09/2007 18:00

Doesn't sky news have a messageboard? Or the DM, or the Sun, or anywhere else but here? Rubberneckingthickosnet?

Surely there you can all 'discuss the case' without the distraction of the majority of other mumsnetters patiently trying to explain why your ghoulish scenarios are so fucking unacceptable to most people?

The Telegraph are reporting that the McCanns may use the 'Fund' to pay for their legal defence.

Disgusting.

Beneath contempt.

mamazon · 11/09/2007 18:35

it has been stated by the family spokesperson that all funds are to be used for the search for madeliene, any legal campaign will be provatly funded

ScoobyDooooo · 11/09/2007 18:37

I think the prosecuter has now paased it to the judge so he obviously feels there is enough evidence.

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 18:37

Seems they've had a change of mind.

ScoobyDooooo · 11/09/2007 18:38

Gerry McCann himself stated in an interview that none of the money will be used for legal fees & that the fund is purly for there search for madeleine nothing else.

Hulababy · 11/09/2007 18:47

"A prosecutor in Portugal has decided there is enough evidence to charge the parents of Madeleine McCann with her death. "

This not what the BBC is saying. Yes the files have been passed on, but not necessarily because there is enough evidence to chargge the parents. It could be the exact obvious that there isn't enough evidence and for the judge to drop the case against them.

Sky News are not necessaily reporting exact fact here! Just there version of it.

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 18:47

Not to mention that they've hired the extradition lawyer who defended Pinochet.

He sure as hell won't come cheap.

One thing is for sure, the McCanns ain't going back to Portugal without a fight.

Hulababy · 11/09/2007 18:49

Of course they have hired a good lawyer. Wouldn't you if you could afford to? I sure would!

bobbysmum07 · 11/09/2007 18:50

It's not their money, that's the pont.

totaleclipse · 11/09/2007 18:51

Well of course, they were'nt going to hire Mr Bean were they?????!!!!!!!!!!!

totaleclipse · 11/09/2007 18:51

Have access to thier bank accounts do you?

Hulababy · 11/09/2007 18:52

At present you do not know that. In interviews to date they have said they will not use the fnd for legal costs. TBH they may not legally be allowed to, depending on the way the fund has been set up. They are both doctors, presumably on good wages and quite likely with investments and savings (just thinking of doctors I know). So they can presumably afford to have a good lawyer anyway.

ScoobyDooooo · 11/09/2007 19:02

Hulababy sorry i was not meaning anything sinister from my post about it being passed to the judge

Gerry mccann has already stated he wants it put before a judge so they can show for themselves why they are innocent.

Also it did say in Gerry's interview over the weekend that they are not allowed to use the money from the fund so i think it may be the way it is set up as such.

Bobbysmum07 if you had this hanging over you & knew you were innocent would you really not hire the best lawyer around? get real ffs.

Hulababy · 11/09/2007 19:07

ScoobyDooooo - wasn't your post I read it from anyway I don't think. No worries

morningpaper · 11/09/2007 19:18

Bobbysmum you seem to be trawling all the media outlets in the world in order to find "evidence" to slag off the McCann family. Calling them "disgusting" and "beneath contempt" on the basis of undoubtedly another groundless rumour is a really poor show. I really wonder what is motivating you.

HorribleHorace · 11/09/2007 19:34

bobbysmum, i don't normally like to get personal but my god, if anyone is disgusting, it's you

talk about kick someone when they are down.

Nothing has been proved yet - remember that.
