I read earlier that the police think the McCanns stored the ody in the church until they moved it to their car (five weeks after she disappeared).

I find this truly inconceivable that a church in Portugal would allow them to do this and logistically impossible that it could be done without the churches knowledge.

I must stay away from this threaad today. It is not productive that I have become so attached to story about people I don't even know.

AND... I'm trying not to forget that they do NOT have a body. Madeleine could be anywhere on Earth, literally.

eh? Dunno if I should ask but can't help myself - what vicarage case is this?

I've made a thread for Madeleine McCann chit-chat here which some people might prefer to use, rather than clutter up Active Convos with threads with ridiculous and offensive titles like this one. But it's only a polite request. You can keep posting here if you like but it is quite an upsetting (and unfounded) title for people to have in their face.

I haven't bought newspapers since Diana died

Can this be quote of the week?

"I must stay away from this threaad today. It is not productive that I have become so attached to story about people I don't even know." Think others might do well to do same.

On the subject of the media, there was a very interesing interview with Lindy Chamberlain on channel 9 this evening (I'm in Sydney) who said she could see the media were turning on the McCanns in the same way they'd turned on her, the same pattern of support turning into condemnation.

I watch the news via the internet and can see some of the journalists virtually salivating over the story. In particular, Martin Brunt looks like he can't sleep with the excitement of it all.

Do they have no compassion?

The interviewer said that the McCann's had been reading about Lindy Chamberlains' case on the internet and wondered whether she'd be available to speak to them (she said she would).

Interestingly, you could see Lindy was trying to remain impartial because we don't have the evidence - that must have been very hard for her.

(apologises for cluttering up active convos with reflection on the parellels between two cases and grateful for the advice of what I might like to do)

Please could you go to this thread for any further discussion of Madeleine McCann.
