My heart goes out to her family and friends and I'm hoping she will be found soon.

Agree its been all over the news and getting much more attention than most missing people.

I really really hope they find her safe, and soon.

crisscrosscranky · 10/08/2019 10:50

I'm not sure why my post breached talk guidelines-

• No personal attacks
• No posts that break the law
• No trolling, misleading or deliberately inflammatory behaviour
• No trollhunting
• No spamming

It was none of these things.

sofato5miles · 11/08/2019 04:50

I personally found your comment hugely spurious and distasteful ( though I wasn't engaged enough to report). That might be covered under point 3. Someone/ others may have felt the same.

butterflywings37 · 11/08/2019 09:04

I agree @sofato5miles

SouthWestmom · 11/08/2019 09:44

I can't believe she hasn't been found. That poor family. I hate to think she will become another Madeleine McCann or Ben Needham or Andrew Gosden.

The odd things that occur to me are that the road is quite nearby - could she have walked into the road and been abducted?

And the sighting of someone bathing in the river seems unlikely

LouisTherouxsGlasses · 11/08/2019 09:56

Poor little darling, I keep checking to see if she's been found. Hopefully she could be just scared and hiding somewhere, in which case the thermal imaging might pick her up? I'm from Ni and it's getting a good bit of coverage here. There's a GoFundMe for the family's extra costs which we should all give £10 to!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 11/08/2019 09:58

Should we? Confused

lurkingfromhome · 11/08/2019 11:45

Why should we all do this, please? Confused

BayandBlonde · 11/08/2019 11:52

The kid had gone missing and I do hope she is found safe and well, but I won't be donating anything to a Go Fund Me Page. No doubt the family will have insurance

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 11/08/2019 12:04

Why do we need to donate? I assume travel insurance will cover financial outlay Confused

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 11/08/2019 12:09

Good grief, that page has raised £87,000 and it is quite blunt that it's simply to provide money to be drawn on by the family to cover their expenses!

I wouldn't wish what has happened to them on anyone, but not clear why they are unable to use their insurance but have to set up not one but two fundraising pages?

Passthecherrycoke · 11/08/2019 12:25

I guess insurance doesn’t pay cash up front but reimburses expenses on production of receipt? I imagine those donating are family and Friends who don’t know how else to help. It obviously doesn’t require complete strangers donating when they don’t want to!

SouthWestmom · 11/08/2019 12:50

I doubt many travel insurance covers indefinite searches for a missing child.

I don't have a problem with them raising money. It says other family members are flying over to help look.

Plus people feel helpless so fdonate.

MissEliza · 11/08/2019 18:18

I can't believe anyone would question the need for fundraising. Of course the family are going to be massively out of pocket. What's a fiver or a tenner to help someone out?
We know a teenager who died on holiday abroad. He didn't have travel insurance. Wrong, I know, but lots of people are stupid like that. It cost his parents almost £20000 to repatriate his body. A family friend started a fundraising page to take the financial pressure off a grief stricken family. It stunned me how many people in the community said to me 'well they should have had travel insurance shouldn't they? I don't know how anyone can be so cold.

sofato5miles · 11/08/2019 19:23

I just hope they find her. The not knowing is just too awful to contemplate

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 11/08/2019 21:03

What's a fiver or a tenner to help someone out?

Nobody should be guilt tripped in to donating money they can’t afford. £10 might not be much to you but for many families it would mean they would go without something to make this donation.

SouthWestmom · 11/08/2019 21:11

Have we got slightly sidetracked here? One pp suggested everyone should donate; the family didn't.

I can't believe they've not found any trace of her. How can someone vanish? I feel so sorry for her family, this is agony for them.

MissEliza · 11/08/2019 21:45

How can someone vanish? It would be pretty easy in that environment, I would imagine.

SouthWestmom · 11/08/2019 22:23

Maybe. But not a trace - no scent after 100m, the previous missing people found within 24 hours, no staff up early to see her - just horrifying.

TheOriginalChatelaine · 12/08/2019 07:54

It's a nightmare situation and I was very moved by the mother's appeal but was distracted by the husband rubbing her arm. Maybe it's just me but the last thing I would find comforting is someone rubbing my arm when trying to concentrate. Let's hope she's found soon.

BirthdayKake · 13/08/2019 09:05

They've found a body :(

AlwaysSunshine81 · 13/08/2019 09:12

Have they? I can’t find anything on it?

Have they? This has been missing from the news. Not nearly as much coverage as with MM.

AlwaysSunshine81 · 13/08/2019 09:15

I’ve just googled it and it’s on daily mail and sun. Why not bbc?
So awful
