My heart goes out to her family and friends and I'm hoping she will be found soon.

Just think about what you have just written littlebird.
Would they really announce something that, if not true, could so easily be disproved.
This poor girl died in tragic circumstances. It is almost certain there was no foul play.

Elsewhere it is described as a ruptured ulcer (caused by stress); more comprehensive than a 'burst intestine' but sensational sounding for the Daily Mail. (if that was the exact wording in the Dail Mail, not looked at the article myself).

gubbsywubbsy · 15/08/2019 07:58

It's all very sad , I have a son like Nora and I am 100% sure he wouldn't wander offf but I still made sure the windows are locked on holiday because their brains are just not capable of a lot of logical thought processes and they don't understand the dangers of life because they have already been protected etc . I feel for her parents though because they must have thought she was safe , I guess she was so excited about the waterfall she went to look for it .. either way it's so so sad .

Delatron · 15/08/2019 07:59

I’m glad no signs of foul play.

So sad she couldn’t have been found. I guess it’s a huge search area...

Bluntness100 · 15/08/2019 07:59

It seems it was a ruptured ulcer in her intestine. It's very unlikely the Malaysians would release something that was not feasible. That would be silly of them. Especially as the French and British authorities are involved and the global media is involved.

It's very sad, but it does seem she wandered off and got lost. People have to remember this girl had very little co ordination and was mainly non verbal, she had significant additional needs that would have impacted her ability to find her way back in this situation.

I think it's just a very sad and tragic set of circumstances.

littlebird88 · 15/08/2019 08:07

I still v v much doubt the explanation.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/08/2019 08:21

I have no difficulty accepting the post mortem findings.

The body responds to stress by producing excess stomach acid, this can cause ulceration - stress ulcers- which can lead to perforation of the stomach or duodenum. Add in the lack of food due to not eating for several days, meaning the stomach is empty and full of acid, and this makes ulceration/perforation more likely. Perforated ulcers can cause severe intestinal bleeding and/or peritonitis. The results will be obvious on post mortem examination.

That poor, poor child. May she rest in peace.

Bluntness100 · 15/08/2019 08:22

I also have no issue accepting the findings. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Verykeentosellhelpme · 15/08/2019 08:31

@littlebird88 Me too Sad

Bartlet · 15/08/2019 08:31

Oh dear. The thick conspiracy theorists have already come out. Based on no more evidence than what they read in the Daily Mail, they think they know better than medically trained doctors.

Do they honestly think that the Malaysian state would give an explanation that Isn’t true or doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. This girl was a french, British and Irish citizen. If it was crap then the governments would get involved.

How pathetic must your life be to get pleasure out of speculating about conspiracies involving a dead child.

Rumours0fAHurricane · 15/08/2019 08:33

@littlebird88 why? Some sort of expert yourself are you? Or you don't believe that Malaysians are capable of carrying out post mortems?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 15/08/2019 08:35

It seems exceptionally odd to want her to have been abducted or raped.

And even odder to think that somehow the Malaysian authorities would be able to stop the French or British from finding out they'd made something up, when her body will almost certainly be repatriated to France or the UK, and France have an active investigation so may well verify the findings themselves, if they haven't already.

Kinsters · 15/08/2019 08:35

So tragic. Her parents must be devastated, I can't even imagine what they're going through. These results must be incredibly difficult for her family and I hope that they're being well supported. I wouldn't be surprised if the post-mortem was repeated in the UK or similar, I don't think that's unreasonable.

I believe the results of the Malysian post-mortem though, I really can't imagine something as important as this would be covered up. The Malaysian police have tried their best and made the right decisions (staying in the area near the resort to look for her). It's just a tragedy that she wasn't found in time.

300 people searching sounds like a lot but jungle is tough terrain and if she was afraid or didn't understand she could have hidden. It seems to be one of those things that in hindsight if only they'd searched in the right place, had more dogs, or more people etc. But you can drive yourself mad thinking what could have been if only someone had done x.

MrsDimmond · 15/08/2019 08:38

People have to remember this girl had very little co ordination and was mainly non verbal, she had significant additional needs that would have impacted her ability to find her way back in this situation

I think it's because of those very facts Bluntness that people are struggling to picture Nora opening the window and walking a mile in such challenging and totally unfamiliar terrain.

ShirleyPhallus · 15/08/2019 08:41

The poor poor girl, and absolute torture for her family knowing she was alive while they were out there looking for Sad

MrsDimmond · 15/08/2019 08:42

Obviously I realise that it wouldn't have been her intention to walk over a mile if she did leave her room independently.

Bartlet · 15/08/2019 08:43

So all the idiotic amateur sleuths who think they have the inside track -

What motive would the British, French and Irish governments have to go along with the Malaysian governments supposed lies regarding the death of a vulnerable child?

Bluntness100 · 15/08/2019 08:46

It took her over a week to get to where she was, it does seem like she left, and simply got herself lost. It's tragic, but I think as a pp said wanting it to be something much worse is really quite disturbing.

Chilledout11 · 15/08/2019 08:47

I just can't imagine the pain her family are going through. Thankfully they have some answers now. Really tough on them Flowers

AuntieMarys · 15/08/2019 08:48

There are some ghouls on here.

Frownette · 15/08/2019 08:53

At least her family have been able to 'reclaim' her body, it's such a primal thing.

It's such a huge shame no-one found her earlier

Celaeno · 15/08/2019 08:55

So terribly tragic. My thoughts are entirely with her family.

The xenophobic and ghoulish comments on here from a few posters who want there to be something criminal or even more horrific are absolutely vile. I hope MNHQ shows some consistency and deletes any posts which state they don’t believe the results of the post mortem
