I just saw something about that, elf - it said 1700 people had signed it.

sickos

ELF1981 · 13/06/2007 19:47

I appreciate that when the news first came out, a lot of people expressed shock that the children were by themselves, and I have seen a lot of posts on Mumsnet and heard a few comments to the like that they are shocked that the family haven't been "told off" for leaving their children alone, but I didn't realise anybody had put this in writing and got the ball rolling (so to speak) like this.

"why don't they get the sniffer dogs in and just ... start somewhere!". Where? Where are they supposed to start if the references are too vague? And considering they get something like 15 calls a day from psychics claiming to know where Madeleine is, if they investigated each and every one of them with a team of sniffer dogs just wandering around the specific areas their resources would soon be overstretched. You have to be realistic about this, they will investigate and will hopefully find something, but they can't plough all their resources into every lead - it simply isn't possible.

Wolfgirl · 13/06/2007 20:52

wannabe what on earth are you sounding off for!!!!!!!!!! dont think there was any mention of sniffer dogs investigating every lead - stop huffing and whining and read threads properly - thank you!

And as for the 15 tip-offs a day - thats as maybe, but most people have agreed on this thread - that this must stand out from all the others because it has come to the publics attention.

Oh and one more 'and as for'! The letter did give some coordinations. And thats why I asked why the dogs had not started in that particular vicinity - least ways that is what I meant.

Im not there, and youre not there. You are sitting at home jibing at another MN member (me)over something I said. Understand my friend, this is a public forum, I can comment, discuss and hold an opinion, and I dont need you or anyone else admonishing me for that. Take the issue up with MNHQ, because it these guys that make the rules. If you want a forum based around your own rules, go set one up. But for now, this is the way things are.

Its pathetic, the way people attack people on these threads when they dont agree with what is being said. It defies belief that that we all mothers and are supposed to be on here, communicating with each other and building relationships. Thats a laugh.

You highlighting my comments is on the contrary to that to that ethos. Dont speak to me if that is all you can offer, I can do without it.

Presume a helicopter could do a search to to a scan with the heat seeking imagery device? It has been used before in similar cases, iirc

Loobyloo22 · 13/06/2007 21:08

Hi Ladies - I just want to cut in with something possibly entirely irrelevent but I have to share... When police were initially searching for Sergey Malinka they called him a 'dangerous man with a history of sexual violence'. They were also searching for a man who may have been linked to the disappearance of Yeremi Vargas on March 10th this year in Gran Canaria.

A simple web search with Malinka's phone number from a business site of his comes up with this:

www.anunciosgratis.pt/ads/200/posts/1_VE_CULOS/1_Auto mveis/11699AudiA418125PSAC146_000KM.html

...Selling his car 4 days later... coincidence? probably but a weird one at that. Malinka is involved with a company that organises boat trips to the mediterranean and islands of north africa.

TaylorsMummy · 13/06/2007 21:41

omg,that's scary stuff

fimac1 · 13/06/2007 21:54

Do you think you should send that link to CEOP who are involved in the investigation? Checked their web and its email is:

[email protected]

TaylorsMummy · 13/06/2007 21:57

yes,i would think it would be a good idea

AttilaTheMum · 13/06/2007 21:58

You don't think they might already have done a simple web search on his phone number.....?

kittylette · 13/06/2007 21:58

thats made me fel ill

musicianswidowAKAmumofmonsters · 13/06/2007 22:02

who is Sergey Malinka?

Loobyloo22 · 13/06/2007 22:03

Yes, Atilla you would think so but to be hinest who knows, there is a lot more they have missed.

TaylorsMummy · 13/06/2007 22:04

i don't think we should assume they have seen this.i know it may seem basic police work but i don't have much confidence in them.no harm in emailing it imo.

Loobyloo22 · 13/06/2007 22:10

I have sent a message to the link you gave me. It is weird though isn't it? I keep thinking I am just elaborating on it?

lucykate · 13/06/2007 22:12

here we go again. who needs forensics and police investigations when we have mothers with google

kittylette · 13/06/2007 22:14

DP said it maynot be a psychic

if she has been killed by someone and that someone is in a 'ring' that he mayve bragged the wherabouts

and that may be the case with the belgum girls,

thats what seem likey, sadly

Loobyloo22 · 13/06/2007 22:15

Well Lucy Kate, you may be right, but then again you just may be wrong so what is the harm in sharing that information?

fimac1 · 13/06/2007 22:17

Yes you would assume they already know this but can't do any harm?

Twiglett · 13/06/2007 22:19

arggghhhhhhhhh

GET A GRIP!!!!!!

mumemma · 13/06/2007 22:23

fimac1 - sorry but I think it's too late for any heat seeking devices

I can't believe someone has started a petition to instigate SS in the UK to investigate potential neglect - FFS, why don't the fuckwits who do this start one on doing something about the bastards that do this to children. Surely they are the criminals?

Whatever happens, I hope this really raises awareness of what can happen, even if it is rare. I didn't know anything about those girls in Belgium until today.

Loobyloo22 · 13/06/2007 22:37

Twiglet... can you be more eloquent in what you are trying to express?

divastrop · 13/06/2007 22:46

here we go again....

dolally · 13/06/2007 22:47

If this tale about starting a petition to have the SS investigate this child's poor parents is true, then...

I want a petition to stop PUBLIC money (our taxes) being used to criminalise two normal people who will pay for their "mistake" for the rest of their lives.

BishyBarneyBee · 13/06/2007 22:51

has there been an MM thread that hasn't kicked off
