For those of you who are interested - and don't want any arguing - the news update according to Sky

  • police are now looking for a man seen in a white van
  • they have an e-fit of him
  • also want to interview an american who lives locally who owns a white van and hasn't been seen for the last few days
  • reward of £1.5M has been offered by the News of the World

MrsSpoon · 14/05/2007 16:10

lissielou, could you give us a brief run down of what the man in the video is saying? For those of us with no sound on our PCs. Thanks.

fifisworld · 14/05/2007 16:12

Lissielou that was an old report from 5th may, just saying that they belivev she has been abducted and that they weren't releasing any details of a man suspect they had

lissielou · 14/05/2007 16:15

sorry, didnt have a date on it and just saw missing girl latest headline.

mrsspoon, was basically that they had a suspect and a line of enquiry to follow

MrsSpoon · 14/05/2007 16:15

Just read this . Wish is was a bit more positive.

MrsSpoon · 14/05/2007 16:15

PinkChick · 14/05/2007 16:25

PinkChick · 14/05/2007 16:33

i knew they were looking for an american local man?, its all getting cinfusing i think there is more sepeculation than fact right now, which is sad as that mean there is no progress

mumemma · 14/05/2007 19:54

BBC News has 'villa sealed off at Algarve resort where Madeleine McCann went missing' - please God she's there safe and sound.

mumemma · 14/05/2007 19:55

Sky News says they are searching home of a British woman and son.

Scootergrrrl · 14/05/2007 19:55

Sky has someone outside - apparently it's a local British man and his mother. The man was acting as a translator for police and the mother set up a stall to try ot find Madeleine

ellabell · 14/05/2007 19:56

Just read the same on sky news the man who owns the villa with his mother has been helping with translation

ellabell · 14/05/2007 19:56

sorry x posts x

UCM · 14/05/2007 19:56

Fingers X'd.

mumemma · 14/05/2007 19:58

Another bastard 'helping the police', Ian Huntley again - fingers crossed she's ok. This guy has a young daughter who looks like Madeleine but he's separated from his wife who lives in Norfolk.

Whoooosh · 14/05/2007 19:59

Oh Mumemma-am thinking exactly the same-please no!

yogimum · 14/05/2007 20:00

A scotland yard policeman said the other day it had similarities to the Soham murders. God I hope not!

mumemma · 14/05/2007 20:05

So strange that those two UK policemen said at the weekend it would be resolved in days and close to the scene. Keeping hopeful about this and trying not to speculate - it may come to nothing, who knows.

PinkChick · 14/05/2007 20:14

the guy 'bob' has been 'taken' to police station 'not' arrested'but they have drained the pool, early hours this morning??, hope my mind is wrongly in overdirve now

SwiperNoSwiping · 14/05/2007 20:17

Oh god i can't bear this, please let her be safe....

jenk1 · 14/05/2007 20:18

martin brunt from sky news on, jennifer murat the mother of robert murat has been sat for hours in scorching heat asking people to talk to her about madeleines disapperance if they didnt want to talk to the police.
