i have an idea, instead of actually posting on this thread people could just bump it. no arguments and people can read it if trhety want to.

I can see the news myself, but if we're going to be positive, I wonder how many people remember that case from the 1990 where the little boy (about the same age as Madeleine) was found almost 8 weeks after he'd been abducted (I think by a paedophile). I cannot remember all the details but I caught the end of an interview with his mother on TV the other day and she was saying it is important not to give up hope.

I think, from memory and I may be wrong so please correct me if I am, that someone recognised the little boy (he was staying in some hostel I think) and that is how they found him.

I know this sort of outcome is unlikely now but there's always just a sliver of hope.

I was out of the country when it happened misdee so can't remember all the details (you have a good memory!) but I think it was Hemel Hempstead wasn't it and he was taken from a park. The paedophile wasn't put away for life though - came out and reoffended . Think he was put away again fairly recently (in the last year or so).

foxin, was a fairly local thing, i live in herts. it made a lot of people in the area very jumpy. he went missing from a park yes.

everyone was very very surprised when they found him.

oh I see misdee. Here's the bbc news story about him being jailed last year . I am at how short the sentences are tbh.

i heard this in Radio 4 news at 1pm.

Sky are saying that police are also looking for someone who lives in Praia de Luz and recently lost custody of their 4 year old son. He hasn't been seen recently and also drives a white van. This is in addition to the white van driver seen acting suspiciously near the apartment.

fox - that shocks me too. Two cases of abduction and only locked up for a handful of years!
