donnie · 16/05/2007 14:02

"of the same ilk as Ian Huntley"

FFS.He has not even been arrested for anything.Let's just hang him now shall we?

This thread is just bursting with vultures and vile, vile troublemakers.

NKF · 16/05/2007 14:04

Wolfgirl - I mean open season by the journalists.

ScaryHairy · 16/05/2007 14:07

Agree Wolfgirl. I couldn't help feeling, as I watched Skynews the other night, that they were dying to have a "British journalist catches kidnapper" headline. Their coverage seemed rather too gleeful to me and left a nasty taste in my mouth.
And as for his ex-wife and child being hounded, that is just awful.

LaCerbiatta · 16/05/2007 14:11

I know, lol, but you can make it out from the title, can't you?.....

I suppose I somehow feel like I have to show that I'm not just making these things up....

mumemma · 16/05/2007 14:16

Paste the article in google's translation thing - not very easy to read but you get the gist of the article.

oliveoil · 16/05/2007 14:24

pic here of his ex wife and dd under siege

she is 4 ffs with a blanket over her head

the media have gone mad

littlemissbossy · 16/05/2007 14:24

I just translated it and the russian has a history of violent sex crime - omg

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 16/05/2007 14:24

As if it wasn't bad enough that one 4 year old is missing, now they have to traumatise another one. Nice.

sal13 · 16/05/2007 14:33

I read that there are three theories about this case. 1st, that it is a kidnapping, 2nd, peadophilles, 3rd, couple wanting child of their own. I was thinking. If it was a couple wanting a child of their own, surely they would have taken on of the twins. They are only 2 and their language skills would be limited and therfore it could be much easier to pass them off as the abductors own child, and less likely that the child would be able to alert anyone. we are all asuming that it is a peadophille, but - just to throw a spanner in the works- what if it is a kidnapping? Just consider it for a minute. There would be a news blackout while terms were being negotiated. It just niggles me that Mrs Mccann was said to have run out of the apartment screaming 'they've taken her' I just find that unusual. she used the plural, not 'she's gone'. Who knows, i'm just throwing another theory into the mix here. I suppose I also find it prefereable to the peadophille one.

ChocolateFace · 16/05/2007 14:38

I think we've all got our own theories. Iv'e certainly got mine. I won't post it though, as this is a news updates thread.

sal13 · 16/05/2007 14:41

sorry. that put me in my place

sarahinphuket · 16/05/2007 14:45

Police investigating Madeleine McCann suspect Robert Murat have ripped down a wall of the villa he shared with his mother.
It was also revealed today that detectives targeting Murat tapped his mobile phone days before they questioned him.

Following the four-year-old's disappearance Portuguese police also tailed Murat, 33, and dropped him as a translator without explanation.

Police possibly even announced they had dismissed CCTV footage of two men and a woman to divert his attention. Mr Murat is believed to have realised he was under surveillance when he saw a car following him. He confronted police officers and they took him in for questioning.

Yesterday police demolished an interior wall and tore apart a garden shed at the home he shares with his mother, 100 yards from where Madeleine was last seen.

Wolfgirl · 16/05/2007 14:52

Mmmmm... good theory Sal13; someone else made mention to it being a kidnapping, something that maybe the McCanns did, and its pay back time. is that why they believe she is safe and well.

However, when traumatised, it just might have been the first thing that came into her head. I had a little scare this week myself tbh; DD has been reacting to her recent MMR jabs, and wont sleep on her own, so has been sleeping with me. I have to lie with her for about an hour before she nods off. She nodded off one night, I left her on our bed, went down for tea. Later I went up to check she was OK< and she was gone. My heart skipped and I froze, looking at the empty space. DH had moved her back to her cot without telling me. Of course, in light of whats been going on I thought the worst. But the first thing that I thought in my head, was 'shes gone' NOT oh theyve taken her. BUT, we are all different.

unless they did know something prior; but I doubt it. Purely becasue if they suspected even the slightest danger, they would not have left the kids alone, not unless they were phyco's and wanted all this media attention, wanted to raise their own profile, or wanted rid of their kids.

And now readers - we really are on a tangent! but what Im saying is, that everyone is diff; and whilst its a good possible alternative theory Im not sure it works. ?

Wolfgirl · 16/05/2007 14:54

and sarahinphuket -- what have they found? aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghh, snipets again. (not your fault hun, thanks for the news )

donnie · 16/05/2007 14:54

and you are meanwhile just adding to the hysteria and deliberate stirring wolfgirl. Congratulations.

MrsSpoon · 16/05/2007 14:56

sarahinphuket do you have a link? DH is asking as he was just checking the news.

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 16/05/2007 14:58

at the bottom of

this
it says that "decectives have said they have no idea where Madeleine might be.

Maybe they have information as to why she was taken, who might have been responsible, but still don't know where she is. although I have to say that talk of ripping down walls isn't an indicator of positive progress to me tbh. I only know of one other case where walls were ripped down shudder>

Moomin · 16/05/2007 14:59

I can't fcking believe what I'm reading here! 'good theory'??? to insinuate that the parents have somehow done something in the past and they're now getting their 'payback'??? FFS just leave all this absolutely unnecessary speculation - you are NOT acting like concerned people hoping for a happy ending; you are acting like the vultures picking over the scraps of a carcass for your own entertainment. THis has made me more than anything I've ever come across on my 5 years on MN

sarahinphuket · 16/05/2007 15:00

It was from the daily mail online.... will look for a link hang on

Wolfgirl · 16/05/2007 15:04

grief donnie, most have decided this thread is for discussion as well as updates. people are leaving their theories, no one is hounding innocent people, we are not journalists. If you dont want to discuss/think alternatives then dont join in.

I equally understand, that by discussing/thinking/talking things through, is not going to bring Madeleine back any quicker, but people like to do it. Its a common interest to fulfil a need of sadness (I guess), and in doing so, outworking their sadness. Maybe we should discard ALL CHAT threads, cos hey! its peoples opinions at the end of the day, and who the heck needs those!

ITs the snapping and nastiness I can do with out, and people like you that set the precednece!

Wolfgirl · 16/05/2007 15:05
MrsSpoon · 16/05/2007 15:05

Thanks Sarah, I was reading your post to DH and he was saying, I didn't see anything about that on the news I was reading, I will direct him to the Daily Mail.

donnie · 16/05/2007 15:06

actually wolfgirl, 'nastiness' is daring to state publicly on this board that in your view the McCanns have ' done something in the past and now it is payback time'. That is true viciousness and bitching. How dare you say something so despicable? If I were you I would get that post deleted pdq.

Moomin · 16/05/2007 15:07

why don't you start your own website where you can speculate about this to your heart's content? something like rubberneckersandambulancechasers.com?

I'd be sick to the stomach reading some of this if I was a McCann family member
