For those of you who are interested - and don't want any arguing - the news update according to Sky

  • police are now looking for a man seen in a white van
  • they have an e-fit of him
  • also want to interview an american who lives locally who owns a white van and hasn't been seen for the last few days
  • reward of £1.5M has been offered by the News of the World

Most mothers would do anything to protect their child, including telling lies.

ScoobyDooooo · 15/05/2007 12:23

If you look at the drawings on the dream mans website, underneath has has written what they actually say, them people have written what they have found out about what he has dreamn't & most of it fits a place, it is a bit scary really.

ScoobyDooooo · 15/05/2007 12:23

I also agree about his mother, i also said to dp last night i thought the man was dodgy but we will wait & see the outcome but somewhere along the line he has been involved i think.

PinkChick · 15/05/2007 12:24

i know i will get slated for this but from what i saw and heard on news last night his mother seems as if she..erm.well, she was told not ot speak to anyone, then went straight and spoke to sky news?, then she was candidly shouting through bushes to reporters?, seems 'dippy' to say the least, this is an abduction case, her son is/may be prime suspect and she seemed like she was glad of the attantion???may be wrong, sorry

littlemissbossy · 15/05/2007 12:24

Mayasmum - explaination of the drawings

drawing one from a dream on 3/5 he's written
Madline - Madeleine
tennis court 6 - the resort is known for tennis holidays
vilamura, faro and road 125 - the N125 is the road between Vilamoura and Faro

drawing two on the same day he's written
McCanne - McCann
OCSBR - ocean club summer beach resort
7704227 - this is the phone number at Mark Warner

... very strange

Mother lying?! About what? Why?

MerlinsBeard · 15/05/2007 12:26

wolfgirl those replies are from 5 days agao

wheresthevalium · 15/05/2007 12:26

Those dream drawings are really spooky. By the looks of his website he doesn't do this for money, so I can only hope that he just chooses to share his gift out of the goodness of his heart.

Does anyone know if police will take this sort of thing seriously? I only ask because he seems to have 'seen' a lot of detail, and hey, you never know.

Thinking hopeful thoughts that Madeleine is returned safely SOON

MerlinsBeard · 15/05/2007 12:26

oh god, sorry for repeating! i had major screen freeze

sauce · 15/05/2007 12:28

Oh, not Madeleine's mother.

Are we still on the Robert trail? (sorry but I haven't looked at the news yet today!)

Dh (for what it's worth) thinks that it's a false lead, dramatised by the press to keep everyone's interest up & keep us actively searching.

What other leads have there been?

LucyJones · 15/05/2007 12:28

sauce - people are talking about the suspect's mother lying about his alibi

MayasMum · 15/05/2007 12:29

TBH the dream thing that bloke has done are rubbish - nothing spooky - all info you can get through google - he hasn't 'predicited' anything

fireflyfairy2 · 15/05/2007 12:38

But the drawings were done before Madeleine went missing... weren't they??

tiredemma · 15/05/2007 12:39

I feel that the media are reading too much into this man becoming a 'suspect'- we clearly already do not understand the portugese legal/police system- this man has been given rights to seek legal advice, im sure that the media are desperate for any story to keep people watching their 24hour feeds from the Algarve.

If this man is innocent- shame on the media for portraying this mad to be some kind of oddball likened to Ian Huntley.

debbsyandsonn · 15/05/2007 12:39

yes

LadyTophamHatt · 15/05/2007 12:40

he says they were fff.

a crock of shit if you ask me..

sauce · 15/05/2007 12:40

thanks lucyjones. time I watched the news to get a proper update, I think.

Wolfgirl · 15/05/2007 12:40

...and to predict something as accurate as a phone number. could that be a clue to her abductor; he seems to have given a lot of information about the MW club and a phone number - could the abductor be someone from MW - maybe?

quietmouse · 15/05/2007 12:40

I agree PinkChick, Jenny Morat seemed to be loving all the attention.

She sounded almost hyper when that reporter was talking to her.

It almost seems like they 'want' to be involved. I really hope they are not just attention seekers. I think the McCann's need their little girl back now.

Robert Morat owns a lot of property. It could well be that Madeleine is alive and well at one of these places. That was suggested somewhere, that the police had not wanted to panic him into thinking they suspected him too early - as they think Madeleine is still alive....

I pray she is.

debbsyandsonn · 15/05/2007 12:41

tiredemma love the name by the way correct me if im wrong but wasnt (huntly)"helpful" to the police.

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 15/05/2007 12:47

Can?t believe that people give credence to this psychic claptrap. The resort phone number? Well I too could get hold of that ? it?s a hotel, thus this info is available to anyone. If this nutjob knows where Madeleine is then why hasn?t he got on a plane and flown out to Portugal to find her thus making himself the hero? What a load of crap.

Astrophe · 15/05/2007 12:52

It wuld be great if the 'psychic' was for real, but I suspect that if he was he would be claiming his multi million pound reward by now.

Praying that the police are onto something good though.

debbsyandsonn · 15/05/2007 12:53

it sounds like they are astro doesnt it?

tiredemma · 15/05/2007 12:53

yes he was helpful to police- but he also had past history of abuse to girls which- had the police/school bothered to do their job properly- would have been discovered early on in the investigation.

Some people like to feel important- especially so in a foreign country where they speak the language fluently ( I was always interfering in everybodys business when I lived in spain!!!)

it just seems to simple to me- yesterday the police had no leads- now today they have a suspect who appears to be guilty for making himself seem official and appeared 'odd' - even going so far as to keep mentioning that he has a glass eye! what difference does that make!!!

If I am wrong, then I take it all back- I really do not feel that he has done anything other than stick out like a sore thumb and the police are desperate for any kind of 'movement' in this investigation.

Astrophe · 15/05/2007 12:54

yes, I think so Debsy...and I pray so. It so horrific. Everytime I think of her poor parents I cry for them all
