MADELEINE news updates - a new positive thread

For those of you who are interested - and don't want any arguing - the news update according to Sky

  • police are now looking for a man seen in a white van
  • they have an e-fit of him
  • also want to interview an american who lives locally who owns a white van and hasn't been seen for the last few days
  • reward of £1.5M has been offered by the News of the World

I don't think they made an arrest. he hasn't be charged. Just confirmed as a suspect.
they can't have much to go on surely if he has been released.

so what are the chances that sky news and their cronies have f*cked up this case by alerting everyone that might be connected to this case that this particular man has been questioned by police and that his villa has been searched?

in fact if you wanted conspiracy theories then maybe his mother could have deliberately spoken to the media, knowing that whoever was connected with the case would see it and would be able to get away in time?

They will need to gather enough evidence before they can be arrest/charge him. They appear to be doing that. Now I'm all for innocent until proven guilty but it's all starting to fit together - dark haired man and an older blonde woman seen acting suspiciously in the area, a white van and the scent of Madeleine at an apartment nearby - he sells/rents out apartments. I think these developments will be positive and I really believe now that they'll find her.

wannabe the police say they have been watching him for some time. I would guess if this was going to lead to anything it would already have done so. A british officer just been on saying not to read too much into this.

i think the police know an awful lot more about him particulary,as they have been trailling him for a week i also think his mother maybe involved.It was reported they were looking for a blonde rounded lady seen near the apartment,i think its only a mattr of time now before they get her back.Pure speculation i know,but we can only hope

Wannabe, it's the perfect conspiricy theory; the suspects mother sets up a stall to encourage people to talk to her rather than the police....but that's not what we'rre here to discuss. Hopefully there will be a positive development soon.

i can never understand women who get involved in child abduction/abuse/etc cases. its bad enough thinking a man can harm children but a woman...

Ever since i read some of the dream drawings that were posted about this i felt really uncomfortable. So many of the things he drew and wrote are now seeming to match up even more than just the name of the resort, the little girl, even the phone number of MW. Now, particularly about that the police knew the man and they were wanting him to lead them and that she is safe. And this was a drawing that i first saw last week.

I dont believe in these predictions, but there is a strange kind of hope that they are true and i am wrong about everything i thought i believed in.

Thing that worries me is if they have been with police for the last day or so and Madeleine is alive somewhere near (presumably not at the villa itself) that she isn't alone . Maybe they are hoping one or other will have inadvertently given them a clue by letting them go about their business ?

From BBC News: "Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Portugal are treating a British man as a suspect.
Officers on Monday questioned three people and searched a villa close to where the four-year-old from Rothley, Leicestershire, was last seen.

One of those questioned was a British man, Robert Murat, but it has not been confirmed if he is the suspect."

The BBC news a short while ago say that he has been confirmed as a suspect. But in Portugal being confirmed as suspect means that you have more rights eg to a solicitor. And also that you can confirm yourself as a suspect in order to get those rights.
