Madeleine McCann - we need YOUR help to try and find this little girl.

This is slipping from the news and the police are starting to scale down their seraches.

Evidence seems to suggest that Madeline may have been taken to Spain and yet very few people out there are aware of what has happened or what she looks like etc.

We need to send as many emails as we can to Spanish businesses with a poster attachment and highlight this case.

I need mumsnetters to volunteer.

I have called in sick today to get this started but this is a massive task and I cannot do it on my own.

Please let me know if you can help.

I have passed the text for the subject bar to my DH who is is going to email it to someone he works with and get it translated.

It might not happen until this afternoon though which I think is too late.

Can someone help with the text for the body of the email and then I will find someone to translate both things together.

I am going to a resort not far from where Maddie was taken tomorrow. I just spoke to my dad who's out there and he says he hasn't seen a single poster anywhere!!I'm going to take a load with me but does anyone have the number of the Portugese police so I can add it to the poster? She could not only be in Europe, but Africa and beyond... thousands of people make it to the southern spanish coast from North Africa every day, very easy for a determined person to get her anywhere in the world. Ben Needham was abducted from a tiny Greek Island but he was never found. It's worth considering circulating the poster beyond Spain and France, using the one with the international crimestoppers number. Sorry if this is obvious, just wanted to make sure...

Yes - I agree with PedroPony - surely Interpol and Europol will be doing all this already with their established networks ?

Also - I am pretty certain that Bristish Police will be scanningt the sites you mention as a matter of routine.

but we don't know if the police aren't doing anything really. If that line of enquiry is a strong one then any police force in the world can be looking at those kinds of sites. and I would sincerely doubt that such pictures would be up there so soon especially with the investigation still so young iyswim.

I think it is great that people are actively spreading the poster around as much as possible.

Hills, I know that you are concerned, but bear in mind that Interpol and Europol are both involved and that they are more than likely searching everywhere that they have jurisdiction beyond the Portuguese border.

Wasnt sure if any has thought to use the langauge translator on google ? Ive used it for correspndance with france for hotels and managed to sort many things.

Trouble is we know so little. We may be being told she's in Spain because they know she's in Portugal and they're closing in but don't want the tip people off. Who knows?

The problem is making someone think you've nearly got close to them can make them panic so in a sense if you're on a lead you don't want the publicity.

Very difficult but on balance keeping it in the news so people report things in Spain etc which might help is wise. The £1m reward offered - the new one - might help too.

I would have thought police infiltration by computer hacking or planted persons of the emails of these kind of people is probably one of the better means.

I've emailed the poster to some friends and family abroad, but do you think her face is very clear on it? Would a picture with just her face be better???

I have contacted a translator who is having a look for me now. I will cover the cost no problems.
