New thread to discuss the developments from the news for Madeleine Mccann

I know the other thread got a bit out of hand but lets keep this one nice if possible.

I think it is good to discuss all that is happening in the news & also good to see peoples views on what is happening in the news.

The lastest i can see so far is that Madeleins parents want to keep focused on the finding of there daughter & want to keep this in the news they don't want things to turn on the police investigation & how it is being handled.

Mr & Mrs Mccann have also decided they want an E poster which they are going to be sending out through email to spread the news so that everyone, everywhere can look out for beautiful Madeleine.

I just hope so Scatter

This is so odd - people are postoing on the old thread so now we've got two news threads running at once !

leaving the resort with the mccanns - that has to be a good sign surely?

I think so - at the least they must need id on something - albeit a person, a cctv image or a piece of clothing .

someone said on the other thread that it was 4 hours away - if they'd found her alive wouldn't they have confirmed that?

I just pray to god that she is safe and has been looked after - I think whoever has been attacking her parents for leaving her alone should be hung out and shot - do you not think they are torturing themsleves every minute of every day over that decision. Do you think your banter and critisism helps???

Hindsight is a wonderful gift - we would all have lived different lives and made different choices I bet if it were bestowed on us.

I wouldn't have left my daughter alone like that but as a mother I think rather than bitch about it your first thoughts would be of the absolute terror and heartache this poor family is going through.

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself.

They might not want to announce until positively id'ed by parents ? Also - parents should def know first.

Lets not regress the thread and lets just concentrate on the news

they should absolutely know first. and let's hope that if the news is positive, they can be reunited with their daughter without the scrutiny of cameras.

and sorry but I think that people popping up posts and posts later to cast judgements on those apparently casting judgements are just fuelling the debate that has now died down - let it go.

Sat here with my fingers crossed, i hope something comes of this sighting, and i hope the little girl is ok.

Confused - which is it the place or the press conf ?

The press conference is in 4 hours.

Have they actually arrested these 2 men and woman or are they trying to find them?

As I understand it the press update is at 6.30 - 4 hours away. The garage was not that far from Praia de Luz, on the road on the way to Spain

maybe because of the way the portugese police work a planned conference would be how they would let the media know any developments rather than an instant announcement? the previous conferences seem to have been forced due to pressure from the media so hoping this planned one would insinuate more positive news?

ah hah i got ya. but surely if there's a major development they're not going to wait another 4 hours - surely? likely the press conference was arranged this morning - ya know, general daily "we're not going to tell you anything" non update.

but if she's found, there is no way the media won't be notified - the family will tell the media - almost without a doubt.

Not to detract but it is a murky story.

Fingers crossed that this is a positive development re. conference.

Remember things are done differently over there though.
The Portugese police might have advised them to keep quiet for now for legal reasons.
Especially if they have suspects.
