I know the other thread got a bit out of hand but lets keep this one nice if possible.

I think it is good to discuss all that is happening in the news & also good to see peoples views on what is happening in the news.

The lastest i can see so far is that Madeleins parents want to keep focused on the finding of there daughter & want to keep this in the news they don't want things to turn on the police investigation & how it is being handled.

Mr & Mrs Mccann have also decided they want an E poster which they are going to be sending out through email to spread the news so that everyone, everywhere can look out for beautiful Madeleine.

sorry, I'm probably being a bit thick but why are they going to court?

Quattrocento · 13/05/2007 23:12

I don't think you should call other mothers vile, be abusive to them or swear at them. Belladonna made a point. We may disagree with her, we may think it is inappropriate on this thread, but if so we should say so nicely and not swear at her. It is not right.

God how awful, that must be nervewracking for them on top of everything.

i read on one of the news channels earlier that a couple they're looking for and who stopped off for petrol a few hours after madeleine's disappearance also ate in a hotel on 2 evenings. Do you think they've thought of checking credit card paymnets? surely it would be strange to pay cash in all 3 places?

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 13/05/2007 23:22

if the petrol station bods are not one of the leads that have been followed up as far as possible - why not circulate their description? In the UK we would be shown these cctv pictures if only to eliminate these people from the enquiry - they might as well be invisible if no-one knows what to look for.

paulaplumpbottom · 13/05/2007 23:30

If you are doing something illegal you would always use cash unless you aren't very clever

jampot · 13/05/2007 23:32

they ate in the hotel before the night madeleine was abducted apparently. if the staff can confirm whether they used credit/cheques it may even eliminate them

Just read in the Daily Mail (ok, not sure what's true at this point) that the two male suspects and woman with blonde hair have been ruled out now. Apparently the policeman in charge says that they don't have any suspects - not clear when this was said and who to exactly as I didn't see anything about a press conference.

about no leads now - that's very bad news

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 14/05/2007 09:11

if I was a mum in Protugal I'd be campaigning to have the secrets of justice criteria droppped for child abduction cases - all evidence suggests that widespread publicity as soon as possible gives the best outcome in these cases.

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 14/05/2007 09:12

protugal???

It just said on sky news that the McCanns may employ private investigators to help with the case.

The reporter said everyone finds it odd that the portugese police haven't done door to door enquiries. Residents living nearby have said no one has knocked their door asking questions. Surely this should of happened just after Madeleine went missing.
