I am so worried about this little girl, but can't always find out on the tv, so I thought I would start this, as the thread is talking about stuff, I just want the latest updates please. If this offends anyone I am sorry, but I want to know the updates on this case.

well that girl in Austria eventually escaped, and she was held captive for how many years I'm really hoping they find her, I just hope she's not been taken out to sea cause then she really could be anywhere.

are the police still looking for the 3 people - (is it 2 men and a woman?) or have they already found them, questioned them and let them go?

i can't bear this much longer. that poor little girl...

The search has officially ended, according to Sky News.

How can they do that? Have they found her?

they've not ended the search just stopped looking around the surrouding area - investigation isstill very much ongoing.

I think they mean they're scaling back the searches that are basically searching the local area, probably because they have evidence that she's somewhere else (Spain?), so are not going to waste resources going round local apartments and scrubland.

The ground search has stopped I believe - because they haven't found her, or any trace of her, on the ground. That's what I understood anyway.

The investigation goes on - they will be pursuing the leads and following up on what they have found.

I suspect they have more to go on than they are leting on.

Hello everyone, I am rubbish at links but we are in the process of trying to help the family with their poster campaign.

They have a poster of Madeline (translated into Spanish)and we need volunteers to help send it by email to as many Spanish contacts as they can find.

From a Portuguese newspaper and translated by Google so it's not very good English but you can just about work out the gist of it:

I wouldn't be surprised to find an employee had some involvement. (Of course, I'm not making any accusations here, just making an observation).
S/he would have had the opportunity to observe the pattern of the checking on the children used by the McCanns, possibly over several nights. It is also, I suppose, quite possible that the person who took Madeleine from her bed was someone known to her or recognised by her. It would be much easier to stop her from crying or screaming if the abductor was someone she trusted who might have said that her parents had asked him/her to get her, or something along those lines.

I feel so sorry for this poor little girl.

A friend said today that the parents were wiped away from the complex and there was to be a press release thingy yesterday but i aint heard anything.

I so HOPE and PRAY this little girl is safe and well but it aint looking that good bless her

madeleine's parents have set up a website

bring madeleine home and are encouraging as many people as possible to print out the poster and put it up

It does sound to me as if the parents are under investigation. Although the police chief did seem to say yesterday that the family weren?t under suspicion, but it does sound as if the hotel staff are saying that the parents didn?t check on the children at all during dinner, which was contrary to what they told the police.

But the translation isn?t very good.

But I imagine that police do have to cover all angles, even the unthinkable, which is that a parent might do this.

I wonder if the police really believe she?s still alive.

Mummylin, please do alert people you know in Germany. It is plausible that Madeleine is there, and they won't have had the media coverage we have.
