I know we shouldnt speculate because we dont really know anything but I get the distinct impression that the portugese police have hit dead ends and havent a clue what to do.

dunnow nbg. there was talk earlier that there are legalities over there that prevent too much information being released, and that crime investigations really are shrowded in secrecy until they're resolved. I think that people, esp the media here find it frustrating because they're used to the police over here releasing every intimate detail almost as it happens.

Yes I guess so and can understand if it effects the case in any way.

God I hope they find her soon.

if interpol are involved does that mean they suspect she's been taken out of the country? or is that just procedure for an international case like this, ie brittish child in portugal iyswim.

Interpol would probably be involved because of the boarder alerts . they will also co ordinate enquiries with other foreign police forces.

We have to remeber that the loaction is a tourist location so many differnt nationalities present.

I was watching this tonight and really, really hope that 'no news is good news', the fact that they are calling it a "search and rescue" offers a glimer.

We are discussing devlopments - one of them being the involvemnet of Interpol . question asked on it and hopefully answered.

I shall not say anymore on the subject and will now leave the thread.

I object to MT's comments if they are aimed at me (they certainly came after my post). I have done nothing to speculate, argue or wallow over this very, very sad case. I have been out today with my beautiful DSs but haven't been able to get the McCann family out of my mind and I will not apologise for that.

I have an idea.

All step away from the computer, take a deep breath, and say a little prayer for Madeleine.

I'm no bible basher, but that's the best we can do to help her right now. Endless speculation will do nothing to help her or her family.

I can't believe what I am reading on here, don't you lot have anything better to do with yourselves?

We are mean't to be keeping positive and strong for Madeleine and her family, not speculating about the past few days. Please have some respect, this forum can be used by anyone remember, including Madeleine's parents and what would they think if they read all this?

I am praying for Madeleine to be safe and sound.
