Sorry hatrick was not meant to be patronising ! Are you portuguese then ?

LynetteScavo · 05/05/2007 15:29

I do think we have one of the best police forces in the world, though hatrick.

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 16:29

Oh thank goodness, a new thread. Couldn't go back to the old one, MN at its worst, it made me feel physically sick.

Have a horrible feeling they suspect she was abducted simply because they haven't found her which would have been the case by now if she'd sleepwalked, wandered off (how far can a 3 year old wander off to?) - or the worst case scenario.

That they have a specific suspect sounds promising though. Let's hope she's found very soon, poor little thing.

Zorbadog · 05/05/2007 16:37

And speculating/gossipmongering as to what has happened to her doesn't make people feel sick. What are you hoping to achieve?

Come out from under your wet blankets you sad bunch.

quietmouse · 05/05/2007 16:45

poor little girl. I have cried my eyes out looking at her. She reminds me so much of my 3 year old dd.

This must be hell on earth for the poor parents. Everyone's worst nightmare.

I hope now they have a suspect in mind, they are on their way to finding her.

Please god that little girl will get to see her mummy and daddy soon

quietmouse · 05/05/2007 16:47

my ds, who is 7, prayed for her this morning, and wants to go to church tomorrow and light a candle for her. We will do that in the morning.

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 16:57

If you meant my post ZD, then no because I can hear the concern of the posters.

donnie · 05/05/2007 16:58

zorbadog who exactly are you insulting ? and why?

amidaiwish · 05/05/2007 17:07

just ignore zd. don't react. she will f off back to the other thread if she doesn't get a reaction, bored sad individual.

scatterbrain · 05/05/2007 17:55

still no news ?

this is going on and on - I hope there is a lot going on behind the scenes - I hope they are close....

hippipotami · 05/05/2007 18:04

I can't believe there is still no news - I was so hopeful at lunchtime today when it was believed she was with a certain suspect and within 5 miles of the complex.

Please please let her not have another night away from her family.

princessmel · 05/05/2007 18:09

Just found this new thread. Posted for an update on the other on and was ignored.
I see no news

NAB3 · 05/05/2007 18:10

This is just awful. I hope some family have arrived to look after the twins.

WendyWeber · 05/05/2007 18:13

As abduction is said to be such a rarity in Portugal I should think they would benefit from UK police help, actually (in a totally unpatronising way)

Madeleine's aunt was on Sky news earlier. She said the twins are young enough to be relatively easily distracted, and several family members have joined them there to help out.

2shoes · 05/05/2007 18:14

i do so hope she is found safe and sound.
rights and wrongs of the parents actions.
lets all send positive vibes and prayers that the little tot is found safe and sound

2shoes · 05/05/2007 18:15

sorry posted thet wrong should have said
do so hope she is found safe and sound.

lets all send positive vibes and prayers that the little tot is found safe and sound.

utterMadness · 05/05/2007 18:27

sadly I think it's unlikely she will be found alive.

I think police often say that they believe a child is alive, they did so with Sarah Payne and with Holly and Jessica, it was only after a few days that they admitted that hopes were fading of finding them alive. I think they do it largely because if there's no evidence to suggest otherwise they want all to cling to hope, especially the family, and also far more people will join in a search for a live little girl than would be willing to help search for a body.

thedogsbollox · 05/05/2007 18:28

UM - not exactly a glass half full person are you!

utterMadness · 05/05/2007 18:33

I think there always has to be hope, and I think every single person that has heard this news is hoping beyond hope that this little girl will be found alive.

But I also think that sadly, history has shown that these cases almost never have a happy outcome.

the police stated they had a suspect nearly 7 hours ago, but there's been no news, nothing. nothing to say they think they're getting close, that they believe they have more leads, nothing. if they believe they know who it is why haven't they found him? why haven't they found someone close to him?

Twiglett · 05/05/2007 18:37

I don't actually understand the righteous anger at not being kept informed of every step in the investigation .. its a police matter .. we're the general public not family .. it is our role to sympathise .. but the hanging on every word and supposition is almost ghoulish

my heart goes out to the poor family .. I wish them strength and grace

fryalot · 05/05/2007 18:37

but there is still hope, and lets all keep on hoping, and as 2shoes said, sending positive vibes.

RedLorryYellowLorry · 05/05/2007 18:40

The Portuguese Police don't operate like British Police and keep alot of information private. That's not to say nothing is happening and there may still be a positive outcome.

Budababe · 05/05/2007 18:40

Am hoping there is a news blackout for the reason that they are close and are maybe negotiating or something.

Just can't get them out of my mind today. Everyone's worst nightmare.

Gobbledigook · 05/05/2007 18:43

Agree with you wholeheartedly Twiglett.

homemama · 05/05/2007 18:45

I know this might sound silly but I think it's less likely to be child trafficing (sp?) now that I know one of the twins was a girl. Surely these people would be much more likely to take a girl just under 2 than a girl who's nearly 4?

Also Sky news have just said that roadblocks are being set up at a 5mile radius from the hotel so I think they have more of an idea than they're saying. I so hope this is true. I cannot imagine what her parents are going through.
