My DH is German and has just watched what might be the same video footage. Apparently the gunman also says something that sounds like 'fucking foreigners'.

I just saw that, it was an exchange between gun man on roof and someone else, he said something about being on the dole and foreigners

The gist appears to be:

(a) Passerby says 'you're a Turkish cunt'

(b) Gunman says 'I was born here in a council estate'

So that seems to be the size of it.

Weirder and weirder. I think we will have to wait for it all to emerge.

Loretta said the gunman was right behind her but had his back to her. She sd her 8-year-old son had been in the bathroom with the shooter, whom she described as heavyset and wearing dark clothing. She said the man yelled "Allahu akbar!"

The woman said she took her children, ran from the McDonald's and went across to the street to the mall.'

Seems to conflict with what is on news but who can tell. 8 dead for sure though.

No it was the police and the guy shouted "Alle weg da!" (everyone get away)

(as in the policeman not the shooter - he was warning everyone to clear the street.)

I have a transcript of the "I am german" conversation, but not sure if I should post it. It is 'out there' if you want to have a look, but actually I won't share as apart from anything else there are racist insults (aimed at the gunman) in it.

So she was mistaken? No doubt with time we will find out, one way or another. I hope they manage to catch them all though, the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

Beyond, I read a partial transcript along the lines of a man calling the gunman a Turkish whatever and various insults and the gunman saying he was German and born in a council estate. Was there anything that revealed more about the situation from what you've heard? Thanks

Sportinguista, she was perhaps mistaken, who knows. In that clip just posted I can see how you might think "Alle weg da" was "Allahu akbar" if you didn't speak German and spread that info around, there's so many conflicting reports flying round we can't know yet what's going on. Either way it's shit though. I can't believe what's happening to Europe.

As an aside, I have also seen in my Twitter-reading some alleged suspects, two of the three are very dark, almost middle-eastern looking (definitely not blonde and blue!) nazis.
