and that engine at the pentagon? Rolls Royce siad it defiantly was not one of theirs, although the plane that went into the pentagon had two huge rolls royce engines.

But no links to Iraq ever existed. If this was all a giant US government conspiracy with the aim of creating a reason to attack Iraq, then surely the key thing would have been to create links to Iraq, not Saudi Arabia.

I just cannot work out WHY they needed to do it - the US government that is.

Yes, that's precisely it. The Bush administration was going to invade Iraq from the day it took power. But the suggestion is that this GIANT conspiracy, including the cold-blooded murder of many US civilians was to create a public mood in favour of the invasion. If that was the case, then not creating any links within the conspiracy to Iraq itself would seem something of a mistake, surely?

Don't you think it would help his case a lot more to expose the US government as one that murders its own citizens?

The US Military are an exceedingly influencial body, really not to be messed with!...at the beginning of Loose Change, they show you a top secret document, which has been age released...which is an outlined plan on how they were going to start a war with Cuba. They were going to shoot down planes and ships..and blame it on Cuba!

9/11 is not just regarded as a catalyst for insighting invasions and a war against terror it is also turning into a global war on civil liberties - Big Brother (another "conspiracy")

yes rubberduck that explains it. I thought there was more than one terrorist claiming to be still alive from the BBC report, but it doesn't seem to have been pursed by the media so it may have ended up a red herring.

I still think what really happened, in terms of the Bush Admin's behaviour before and after, is much more unbelievable and scandalous than any conspiracy theory.

The alleged Al Qaeda/Iraq connection was easily a good enough link for the govt and the majority of the people. A scary number of Americans really do trust and have utmost faith in their President and they have no idea at all about world geography.

There was so much confusion in those early days - who was alive, who wasn't, whether loved ones were on the planes in question, whether they were in work... I don't think it would be unexpected or suspicious for news agencies to get some details wrong in the early days of heresay and speculation before real hard fact started to come in.

As I've said before, you only have to look at how previous disasters have worked to see the same patterns over and over - even after the Titanic disaster (and is another reason why conspiracy theories find so much fertile ground).

The rest...well I think that is where it all goes a bit pair shaped!
